President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has approved the recommendation to impose mandated price ceilings on rice in the whole country to ensure reasonably priced and conveniently accessible staple food to Filipinos amid the alarming increase in its retail prices in the market.

Kaya inutos niya na pag-aralan mabuti kung paano mapababa ang presyo ng bigas at ang pagdodonate ng mga sako-sakong bigas sa Department of Social Welfare and Development!

Unti-unti nang masosolusyonan ang problema sa rice prices.

In a recent sectoral meeting, President Bongbong Marcos directed the Bureau of Customs (BOC) to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture - Philippines in examining options for donating confiscated rice to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Bureau of Customs PH Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio said in a press briefing that approximately 25,000 sacks of rice at Great Harvest Rice Mill Warehouse, 167,000 sacks at San Pedro Warehouse, and 10,000 sacks at FS Rice Mill Warehouse were imported from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand.

The seized sacks of rice have an initial estimated combined value of around PHP 505 million.

President Bongbong Marcos truly stood his ground in looking for a PERMANENT, LONG-TERM SOLUTION to address the flooding in Pampanga.

AN INTERESTING EXCHANGE BETWEEN A CONGRESWOMAN AND PBBM

When questioned about her proposed solution, she mentioned dredging.

However, PBBM provided her with a detailed explanation of why dredging isn't a sustainable solution.

In short, PBBM does not want short-term solutions, which are costly and sometimes ineffective. Short-term (aka band-aid) solutions often focus on alleviating symptoms or mitigating the immediate effects of a problem, rather than addressing the root cause.

Her crude response of "hindi po kami papayag” and a reference to the “Huk” originating from Candaba seemed to carry a malicious undertone.
