what started as a simple voice message, turned into this upbeat pop/house song.
"seventeen<3" was fully produced, mixed and mastered by the Hoeninger Mixing team and it's out now.
Happy new release ALANNA!
the key to success is not complicated.
weather you're an artist, producer/engineer or really any kind of business owner/creative.
Connect with your audience on a personal level with your authentic and friendly personality and focus on providing value. Under promising and over delivering.
If you do that on a consistent basis, results will start to come in.
Let's get to work! 🙏🏼

a vocal arrangement is probably the most important part of a modern pop production. it's what can make or break a song. it's what sticks to the listener's ear.
yet, it's oftentimes rushed or done with the wrong mindset.
it's not about recording just another take for your verse you can comp the perfect take.
it's about creating an atmosphere where you can lay down the best takes emotionally as well as technically. Feel that emotion again you originally wrote your song about, set those lights to dim, or have a laugh with your producer while you record those little funny ad-libs like Silas Armstrong and I did in this video.
It's about making the listener feel something. In order to do that, you need to feel it yourself.
set the right mood when you record and take time to build that arrangement further.
pro tip: always track your demo vocals the same way as you'll do on the final recording day. you'd be surprised how often demo vocals connect so much more emotionally
I just arrived in London today 💥 @silasarmstrong are gonna start producing together for the next 2 weeks starting on Monday.
Let's get to work baby 👊🏼

if you're struggling with creating and posting content consistently, this post is for you.
As an independent artist, you have to wear a lot of different hats and it can easily get tough to stay consistent with content. We've all been there. It's daunting to do things that we don't particularly enjoy on a daily basis, but more often than not, these are things we should be doing to get closer to our goals.
Creating content consistently is one of those things, it's everything but easy to stay consistent with it and create engaging and targeted content for your audience.
Here are 3 tips to get better at it, fast.
1. Set as aside time in your calendar and create the content in batches. Take an hour and create content, that you can later split into smaller junks and use for several posts. Set a timer during the slots and only focus on the task ahead of you. Turn off your phone and other things that might distract you.
2. Don't be afraid to try new formats and experiment. Don't be afraid to present yourself in front of the camera. Be authentic and show your personality. Take inspiration from other artists that are further along in their careers and see what type of content works for them.
3. Find 2-3 types of content that you can schedule weekly or monthly for a consistent schedule. If you have a busy day, you don't need to worry about posting anymore. If you have time on short notice or an idea sparks for a new post, you can always add more posts on top of your schedule.
Hope it helps - have fun out there 🔥

DIY Vocal Recording Mini-Series Final Recap
This is it!
Your new home recording setup features all the basic hard- and software you'll need to get going. You now have a laptop or computer well suited for recording, a versatile microphone, a quality audio interface, a free DAW and all the other tools and gadgets you'll need.
One thing we didn't talk about yet is the room you're recording in. The acoustics of your room is one of the most important aspects and is oftentimes the biggest obstacle to overcome for many home-studio owners.
The good news is, you don't have to spend any money on improving the acoustics of your room if you don't want to. This is such a wide topic that covers so many areas, so we recommend you reach out to us and we'll take a look at your specific situation in your room. A few thoughts to get you started with the topic:
⛔️ Avoid drywalls and get creative with mounting old mattresses, blankets, or big bookshelves on your wall. A general rule of thumb is to get as far away from the walls as possible and face the BACK of your microphone towards any drywall spots that are left.
☑️ If you're feeling funny, bring out your inner child and start building a DIY vocal booth. Back in the day, we probably all used to build forts, so why not take an hour and put a few mattresses and blankets around your microphone stand? Trust me, this will actually make a difference!
If you have all this in place to start recording but don't know where to go from here, don't worry about it. We've got you covered! We're currently working on a full-length DIY vocal recording course that will explain everything you need to know about getting PRO-sounding vocals.

DIY Vocal Recording Mini-Series Part III
In part II of our new DIY vocal recording mini-series, we discussed the importance of your computer and the three key components to keep in mind when doing audio work.
Today, we are looking at a couple of different microphone options within a reasonable price for a home studio budget.
So first of all, let's start with something controversial. We believe it is really important to understand that not each microphone fits your unique voice and your unique music. There may be scenarios where are a cheap dynamic microphone for 100 $ sounds better than a 10,000$ high-end condenser microphone used in famous recording studios. It really comes down to what fits your voice best and what the song needs.
Our budget option #1 is the Audio Technica AT2020 which costs around 99 $ is a great microphone if you are just starting out with recording vocals and are looking for the most budget-friendly option.
Our budget option #2 is the Shure SM7B - a classic for most home studio owners. It sells for 399$ and makes your vocals sound smooth and warm. We definitely recommend this microphone for home studio setups as it is extremely versatile and already comes with a built-in pop filter.
Our budget option #3 is our favorite: the Slate Digital VMS ML-1. It is a so-called Large-Diaphragm Modeling Microphone and gives you a very neutral and detailed recording of your vocals. Combined with their unique analog microphone emulations you can get fantastic vocal tones that work for various different styles and singers.
Depending on the budget you currently have available, any of these 3 microphones will be great to get you started with recording DIY vocals.
Tomorrow, we will recommend a couple of different audio interfaces that go well with today's microphone options. Stay tuned 🎤
