𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡: Relative of container victims file a case against Warrap state government

Mr. Bol Majok Deng, a brother of two men among seven people who died in a shipping container in Kuajok, has filed a case against the government of Warrap state for the death of his brothers.

Deng filed the lawsuit through Kiirdit and Co. Advocates Law Firm against some gov’t officials in Warrap state, including the state governor.

On May 6th, 2024, seven people died of suffocation in a shipping container due to the lack of air, and only one person survived the brutal arrest.

The state minister of information, Hon. William Wol Mayom issued the statement the same day saying the deceased were arrested by the soldiers of division 11 and the commander of the division, including those involved, have been arrested.

Singer Max Jay Joins SPLM-IO Party

South Sudanese singer Max Jay has announced that he has joined the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-In Opposition (SPLM-IO) party under the Chairmanship of Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon.

In a statement posted on his page, Jay said, "To my fans and the world at large, I'm kindly informing you of my move to the SPLM/SPLA-IO party for the election campaign. I'll be involved in all activities carried out by the Party. I'm a fully legitimate member of the party headed by our Chairman H.E. DR. RIEK."

He also added, "As we bring you to the democratic revolution, I stand by the decision I have made. Let's wake up and change this country together. Violation of citizens is coming to an end. VIVA SPLM/SPLA-IO."

Max Jay is the son of prominent South Sudanese businessman Tycoon Makiir G*i. His decision to join the SPLM-IO party has generated significant interest and speculation in South Sudan.

Sad News😭

First year Student at University of Juba School of Pharmacy died six days after posting very disheartening statement as a joke.

Student name Diing Alor Diing from Abyei Administrative Area known by his Facebook name posted a statement which read: "If I die give my body to scientist for studies and middle finger to my ex😭"
He commented "Give her for the right hand plz"

The post which mixed the comments of those who were joking and people mourning his death went viral on social media the comment seen by Ajuongdit TV under same post seem to have confirmed the dismayed of Mr. Diing Alor Diing.
Comment from Miko Deey Apiel read "Bro you make it as a joke and to make us laugh and again you make us 😭💔"
"It's was unbelievable for us to understand your dream😭😭😭" Miko added

The source told our correspondent that the late Diing was at School with yesterday and he fall sick after returning home in the evening he was rushed to hospital and died after few hours.

The management of VVM is sending condolences to the colleagues of late Diing at University of Juba, diaspora, Administration, family and country as a whole.

The Bank of South Sudan is demanding a refund from the company that was contracted to construct its branch in Rumbek, Lakes State. The Bank’s governor, James Alic Garang led a delegation to Rumbek to inspect the Currency Centre, in Rumbek town, and was disappointed to discover electrical faults and leakages in the building.
The governor did not disclose the amount of money paid, but said the contractor overpriced the project which started in 2014.

A family member disclosed that Gen. Matur Chut passed away today following a struggle with illness. Gen.Matur Chut Dhuol was a renowned figure and one of the South Sudan liberators.

SPLM_IO protested and condemned the harassment of its party members in Akoka County.

In a letter written by the SPLM_IO Upper Nile State's secretary General, Cde Micheal John Jock Nguany, the party leadership condemned the sibjected treatment of their members.

The letter beared the 13th days of January 2024 as the day when incident happened to the delegates accompanying the Akoka Commissioner to the County headquarters.

"We learned that Police in the area through the directive of the Police Commander in the County Col. Ajang Aguar took our Comrades to their Office. He ordered the SPLM-IO team leader to hand over the Party T-shirts and other items and also went beyond to prevent the SPLM-IO team leader not to speaking as he was delegated to".

The SPLM-IO State leadership described the incident as the "disgraceful manner". The party appeals to the County authority to intervene and return the items as the move is against the 2018 revitalized peace agreement.

Gen. Paul Wal Kun Keat passed away in Gambella, Ethiopia. The cause of his death is attributed to the long-time diabetic sickness that he had visited different countries for medication.

Born on 01/01/1945 in Kuetrengke Payam, Nasir. Late Gen. Paul Wal married four wives who gave birth to five sons and eight daughters.

Late Paul was a Christian who was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan.

Educational Background:

- He started his Primary School in Pilual, then accomplished his Secondary Level in Rasgobana of Gambella Region, where; he proceeded to Jimma University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Theology in 1972.

Work Experience:

- He joined Anya-nya 2 in 1980, where he carried out various revolutionary tasks on behalf of the 2nd Southerners' movement at the time.

- In 1982, he performed as a peace mediator for Anya-nya 2 and the SPLA/SPLM Leadership.
- Was detained in Khartoum by SAF in 1983, until his release during the Sudanese Uprising in 1985.
- He joined the SPLA as a CDR in 1986. In which, he worked as a military commander in several revolutionary zones as follows:

- He worked as a logistics officer for SPLA/M during the liberation struggle. That's why he was among those who used to bring ammunitions, artillery weapons and other military logistics supplies from Libya and Cuba.

- Head of logistics and military supply for SPLA in Bor, 1991.
- Appointed as SPLA's Zonal Commander for Nasir in 1993.
- Was imprisoned in Nasir in 1994.
- He served in the SPLA General Headquarters (Bilpam) with the rank of Brigadier General from 2005 - 2009. Then he came to Upper Nile with the rank of Maj. General and joined the UNS Local Government as an Executive General Administrator for Nasir County, from 2010 - 2014.

- He served as a Chief of General Staff for NDM led by Dr Lam Akol in 2015 before joining the FDP of Hon. Gabriel Changson Chang in 2017, with the rank of 1st Lt.General, and that till his demise on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 in Gambella, Ethiopia.

Governor Odhok toured Kilo-Achera on a Peace Mission

The governor of Upper Nile State, James Odhok Oyay has travelled to Kilo-Achera in response to the latest issues of insecurity reported in the area.

During his journey to Kilo-Achera on Friday, Governor Odhok stopped at Wau Shilluk and interacted briefly with the Agwelek forces stationed there. He then proceeded to greet the people of Akoka and Fashoda Counties before finally stopping in Melut County where he spent the night.

On Saturday governor Odhok proceeded to Renk County to acquaint himself with security and humanitarian updates in the area.

LATEST: On 29th December 2023,President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Opposition Leader Dr. Lam Akol on Friday discussed efforts to consolidate peace, ahead of next year's general elections.

Dr. Lam said they focused on preparing the country for elections to bring the current democratic transitions to a successful conclusion and consolidate effective political processes in the country.

Presidential Affairs Minister, Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro said the two leaders agreed to work together to drive the peace process forward, with an aim of pulling the country to the path of peace, unity and stability.

Newly appointed government officials take oath of office in Malakal

In an oath-taking ceremony administered by Judge Ayei Nyang Ayei this morning, the Governor of Upper Nile State, H.E James Odhok Oyay witnessed the swearing-in of newly appointed government officials in Upper Nile State.

The officials who took the oath office include Hon. Jokino Fidel Nyikay, Peace and Security Advisor, Hon. Joseph Aban, Commissioner of Fashoda County and Hon. Anyak Thon Monykuany, member of Human Rights Commission.

This ceremony marked the formal induction of the officials into their respective positions, following their appointments in a presidential decree last week.

Speaking after the ceremony, Governor Odhok congratulated the new officials on their appointments and expressed his confidence in their abilities to serve the state.

On their part, the newly sworn-in officials expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to work closely with the governor to address the challenges facing the state.

The ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter in the state's healing process, as these individuals take on the challenges of governance and work towards building a brighter future for all.

Thinning Sudan's RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, also known as Hemedti, made his first appearance in months in Uganda.

He was seen with President Miseveni shortly after the Sudanese government was notified that Hemedti would not be present at the scheduled face-to-face meeting on December 28 with army commander Abdelfattah Al-Burhan.

Shilluk community dignitaries arrived in Malakal to celebrate Christmas.

His Majesty Reth Kwongo Dak Padiet, the reigning King of the Shilluk Kingdom, visited Upper Nile state after a year in the national capital, Juba.

The national minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Hon. Onyoti Adigo Nyikwec, also arrived in Malakal.

On their separate arrival, the respected dignitaries were received at Malakal Airport by Governor James Odhok and the Upper Nile State communities.

After landing in Malakal, His Majesty Reth en route to Fashoda, the kingdom's headquarters, after a year in the national capital, Juba.

In a statement to the media, the King conveyed his Christmas wishes for peace, security, and stability to the people of Upper Nile State. He also thanked the governor and his government for his reception.

The arrival of His Majesty Reth Kwong Dak Padiet in Upper Nile State is anticipated to bring about much-needed peace and stability to the Shilluk kingdom and the entire region.

LATEST: Kenyan nationals abducted two male children arrested in Verteth county of GPAA.

Two child abductors were apprehended by police in Verteth County of GPAA through the authorization of the Hon. Commissioner of Verteth County.

one of the suspected abductors whose name is David, travelled from Loduwa at Kenyan border in coordination with his friend call Kidongi from the Jie tribe of GPAA. The network purpose is identified as to sell off the two children with cattles in the land of Murle community.

With the investigation conducted by the police in Maruo, the abductor appear to be John Juma Lokoda, aged 26 years old, which is a Kenyan citizen , height 5.9 and resident of Loduwa. He was evidently accused of abducted the children; Peter Julius age 12 years old, and Satuti Julius age 8 years old.

In the recent days since there had been rampants child abduction by some criminals from GPAA and others have appeared to be from different state with aim of coming to sell the children out to GPAA. However the GPAA government had developed strategy of paying people who feed them with such sensitive information such that the perpetrators can be brought to book.

In a video recorded by visibly upset South Sudan Artists Union's executive member Lucky O’ner, said, the radio stations and DJs in the country must play 98 percent South Sudanese music or risk being closed down. LATEST: Four killed in Central Bank Armed robbery in Juba today The Central Bank of South Sudan has released a statement saying that the attempted armed robbery was thwarted outside the Bank this evening not inside the bank as reported on social media. According to an eyewitness, 4 dead bodies were on seen on the street near the main entrance of BoSS headquarters while another person was critically injured following a shootout. Hours ago, former Northern Bar El Ghazal state governor Kuel Aguer was acquitted of all charges and released from detention. His daughter, Tabo Kuel Aguer, was overcome with emotion as she celebrates the release of her father. Kuel Aguer was arrested in July 2021 for allegedly attempting to overthrow the government. His release was met with celebration from his family and supporters.

Sixteen people were missing and 14 of them were found alive today, and two are still missing. No children, women or elderly people were among the wounded and missing people.
