On a remote Caribbean island, under the shadow of an active volcano, the world's biggest recording artists made music and myth that defined an era. Built by Beatles’ producer Sir George Martin, AIR Studios Montserrat was a state-of-the-art recording facility tucked away on a Caribbean paradise. In the shadow of an active volcano, the studio was the birthplace of mega-hits such as Money for Nothing and Every Breath You Take. Through personal accounts, never-before-seen footage ad backed by a blistering soundtrack, Under the Volcano is the definitive account of the place that stumbled upon the perfect storm of talent, technology and isolation, creating music that would live on long after the last tape rolled.

Several people who worked behind the scenes with the artists at AIR Studio Montserrat are also interviewed. They include music producers Chris Thomas, Neil Dorfsman, Ian Little and Undercover Music's very own Chris Kimsey, as well as sound balance engineer Michael Paul Stavrou.

Growing up as a young teenager in North Carolina, Everett Watson never paid much attention to music as a medium, but like most musicians, there was a seminal moment that ignited a fire from within. For Everett, that moment was in 1976 when Peter Frampton released "Frampton Comes Alive", it was the first album that he had ever owned.

"Frampton Comes Alive" producer Chris Kimsey and Everett Watson later collaborated in creating the album "Politico" which is set to release June 2021 by Undercover Music.

Everett Watson met Peter Frampton backstage after one of his concerts in Beaver Creek Colorado. While meeting Peter, Everett asked him who was behind many of his recordings, to which he replied "Chris Kimsey". A few years later Everett contacted Chris Kimsey and asked if he would work with him. Chris and Everett have been working together and collaborating ever since.⁠
