We're always trying to do different kinds of things...

Players find a tower full of undead skeletons, ready themselves for battle. Players get hyped, it's an undead dungeon!

Then... they destroy them, utterly. Like, "don't even roll, they're just dead." Anticlimax. They completed the goal, but where was the challenge?

Then they find the true source of the necromantic power and its on! Not one powerful spellcaster, but two! Homebrew incorporeal beings galore! Powerful, intelligent soldiers popping out of the ground!

Anticlimax is possibly my favorite tool in storytelling. It tells your audience (the players in ttrpgs) that they will not get what they expected. It also makes the next bite so much more satisfying when you're so hungry for it.

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... 🌳🌳🌳

The humblehomies are back after a brief hiatus last week!

We made it inside the bandit stronghold, but Q and Alanger are currently jailed as prisoners! Will they find a devious way to escape the gaoler? How will Pua, Benson (shapeshifted into a wolf), and Rinn navigate the stronghold to find more information so we can bring the whole operation down?? Even WE don't know...

The party made their way to Skothos, one of the Dakra Isles, in search of the Bident of Thasa. After being ambushed by some harpies, the group found some suspicious stones statues and got attacked by several snakes of various shapes and sizes. They located and restored Palmyra, the High Priestess, who said she can lead them to the Bident. But Palmyra also spoke of the mythic gorgon, Hythonia.
