Our Story
Podtrac launched at the first ever New Media Expo podcasting conference in 2005 with the mission of connecting podcasters and advertisers. Free podcast audience measurement and audience demographic surveys were the core to Podtrac’s publisher services while Podtrac specialized in developing successful podcast advertising programs for advertisers.
In May 2016, Podtrac separated its advertising sales services into a new brand: Authentic (www.authenticshows.com) and launched a monthly ranking of top podcast publishers (the first available industry ranking) based on unique U.S. audience. Podtrac followed up the the publisher ranking with a monthly top podcast ranking in September of 2016. In December 2017, Podtrac launched two year-end rankings: The Top 10 New Podcasts for 2017 and the Top 20 Podcasts of 2017.
