Before the recent chapter of academia unfolded, I willingly submerged myself in Data Analysis skill which I see as a sub-field of Mass Communication. It wasn't merely a decision; it was a deliberate immersion I aimed at refining, fortifying, and hastening the trajectory of my prowess, wherever my ventures might lead.

It might sound like a jest, but the certification journey through 365 Data Analysis Organization significantly broadened the scope of my social media analytics. The Data Science course on Coursera illuminated the potency of descriptive statistics in social science, especially when navigating the quantitative research realm. Additionally, Simplilearn by Google Academy became my guiding light, unveiling the intricacies of Python—teaching me not just the nuances of standard deviation but also the art of correlation analysis, mini-calculus calculations involving vectors and matrices, and the intricate dance of probability.

These were the pieces of knowledge I voraciously consumed, unknowingly preparing myself for the unexpected event that would soon unfold at World Quant University (WQU). My venture into Data Analysis morphed into a profound journey through the realms of Science. In fact, It became an unforeseen opportunity, a studentship that infused my being with an overwhelming sense of optimism.
Now, each step I take resonates with the excitement that my Data Analysis prowess is charting a course. Of course, a course that will lead me to the fulfillment of my aspirations. However, the euphoria that once accompanied this journey has faced a formidable adversary in recent days. A cloud of trepidation has cast shadows over my Data Analysis destination. It seems as though the path I diligently tread is becoming increasingly blurred with each passing day.

The experience, to put it mildly, has been more than hectic. School commitments have snatched away those hopeful moments when I could dedicate an hour to WQU, utilizing Python to unravel the correlations within a Mexico City project. The journey has become overwhelming due to the deluge of school activities. Perhaps, they were right when they said a career path is never a straightforward route. But I hold on, reminding myself that all will be well, hoping to find my way back to the field that ignited the flames of passion within me.

Please, when you see this, leave a prayer for me.

Have you ever wondered why someone will morally comply with the norm of a group during group congregation and deviate from those virtues when he is alone? Let me put it understandably. Do you know why a Muslim when with his Muslim fellows sticks to the common basis of religions like honesty, kindness, hospitality etc, and when the said person is in individual mode exhibits another type of character that contradicts the normal ones?

The answer to this is what Durkheim termed as collective conscience. This is what guides people when they are in the group. Different people from different backgrounds will act in similar ways to the extent that their actions tend to be predictable. So, it is necessary to understand that their action is based on the ideology of that group not individual doctrine.

So, if you meet someone in any societal outing and you base your trust on their behavior, you are on your own. In social science, we don’t judge people based on their group performance because people traditionally fear deviance.

Come! let's acknowledge this. Any commendable trait bestowed upon individuals bears its unique rewards and recognition spectrum. It is imperative, however, to discern that the acknowledgment of one virtue should not be mistaken for the validation of another, as harmony in coexistence thrives on the nuanced appreciation of individual merits.

Consider the virtue of honesty—an admirable quality with distinct merits. Yet, expecting the same rewards attributed to diligence or industriousness would be misguided. The conscientious individual who embraces hard work may not find the rewards reserved for the inherently honest, and vice versa. So, all human virtues form a delicate balance, contributeing to the flourishing of a harmonious society.

Extending this analogy to the academic realm, let us peer into the lives of students. A student who ardently engages in prayer, albeit neglecting the regularity of classroom attendance, shall reap the rewards of spiritual devotion while missing out on the fruits of academic diligence. Conversely, a diligent attendee of classes, yet lacking in the virtue of building good relationships, may find success academically but falls short of a holistic educational and life experience.

Now, envision the third student—a paragon of virtues. This student not only dedicates time to prayer and attends classes with unwavering commitment but also cultivates meaningful relationships within and beyond the confines of the classroom. The synergy of virtues in this individual manifest in academic excellence, social adeptness, and an admirable character. Such a holistic approach to personal and academic growth underscores the profound impact of embracing a comprehensive set of virtues.

In essence, the interconnectedness of virtues is evident in the value of communal endeavors. As students join groups, they amplify the potency of their virtues, creating a formidable synergy that transcends individual achievements. This collaborative spirit, marked by shared values and aspirations, fortifies the foundation of success and personal development. So, if you are a student, please, find a productive group and join.

Carrying The Torch Forward: Dr. Bosun Tijani's Commitment to Expand Nigerian Digital Economy

When I came back from the Huawei ICT Regional Competition, the first amazing book I was able to flip through its pages was “Skills Rather Than Just Degree” which was written by Isa Ali Pantami. Through that book, I learned the genesis of the Huawei Competition I participated in, and understand that the competition is just one of the intellectual plans of President Muhamadu Buhari to combat graduates’ unemployment, underemployment and unemployability.

What a coincidence! I asked myself. What seemed like a stroke of serendipity led me to a revelation. So, I was not just a bystander; I was a participant in a nationwide educational movement. And so, since then, my prayer, excitement and appreciation have not only been extended to the organizers of the competition but also to our dear former president as well as his ministers who paved the path for the transformation.

It is not a mere cliché; nobody knows tomorrow’s child. Nobody knows what has not happened except God. This is our case in the Nigerian Digital Economy. Before, we had thought there could never be a minister in that sector that would perform like Prof. But, through Dr. Bosun Tijani’s short time in the ministry, he has proved to achieve what we had deemed inconceivable.

You too! Look at it. Baba first released a 31-page blueprint that pulsated the heartbeat of a digitally fortified Nigeria. To prove that research without implementation is meaningless in today’s world, he has swiftly commenced the first phase of the training for the million tech talents for which I’m a beneficiary. Just Imagine being part of the Tech Talents training, an exhilarating journey where knowledge wasn't just imparted but nurtured within an ecosystem of communication, interaction, and unwavering support.
You might have a grudge against Nigeria's situation, but Dr. Bosun's strategic foresight in identifying policy initiatives for review embodies a mindset poised for growth. His vision transcends theoretical realms, carving a roadmap for Nigeria's ascension from economic adolescence to technological sovereignty. Now his digital economy plan is giving us hope that Nigeria will soon leave Walt Rowstow's “take off” stages of economy to the maturity and mass consumption stage.

Meanwhile, all these aforementioned efforts of the gentle minister are nothing if you had not seen him physically spending his full energy in backing his intellectual plan. I was opportune to see the minister in yesterday’s event organized by 3MTT. Seriously, witnessing Dr. Bosun Tijani at an event is akin to encountering a force of nature. His warmth, charisma, and resolute commitment painted a portrait of a leader not merely executing plans but infusing them with vitality and elevation.

I beseech almighty to bless the President of Nigeria, whose visionary stewardship allows us to immerse ourselves in the gentle minister's plans and ideas, heralding a digitally empowered tomorrow. May God bless You, My honorable minister.
