Chris is still in Montana and went for a nice float. Nick and his family adopt kittens that now are probably legally able to drink. Unfortunately, his return from work meetings in New York is one to remember but not in a good way. It’s all worth it when he and his wife stumble across a nice Montana beer fest with some 80’s hair metal. Even though it’s probably all a lie, Nick chooses to believe that the cooler (still in the 90s) weather is here to stay in Austin. Nick has another run-in with COVID but hopes it doesn’t affect his upcoming trip to see . Don’t forget your hair….I mean bear spray in Montana. John’s family got a new dog…….she’s now almost 2 that is named, in part, after a great. Hot take from John Tumble 22 > Hattie B’s. He also gets another new job. He also got to see and his daughter got to share a special moment with Mr. Brooks before he left the arena. We talk about the incomparable Vin Scully. John is going to Portland for the first of many work trips and thinks he isn’t going to get to enjoy the fresh hop season, but future John knows that he does. For whatcha drinking: Chris enjoys a west coast IPA named June Grass from and John and Nick are spellbound by the wizardry that Taylor and crew at were able to pull off with the collaboration pilsner. Demystifying the craft returns. Chris hits us with his walk down memory lane and a joke. We talk cream ales and who was in charge of naming this style? John and Nick miss the mark a little with tasting a Lightning McCream Cream Soda Ale. It was literally the closest we could find. Chris has a traditional cream ale from in the Kali Creamsicle.

We also debut a new game that John observed at which is guess the celebrities height. Chris talks about his wonderful experience at brewery in Madison, WI. Nick recaps his venture out to in Chicago. John breaks down his experience at all locations of in New York. Then Nick hits us with a dad joke and a little walk down memory lane. Today's episode is milkshake IPAs. This week, Chris hikes his way through Sleeping Bear while simultaneously getting a job offer out of the blue. Sadly, his dad caught covid and was hospitalized. Nick celebrates his son's 2nd birthday and the beauty of life in general. He laments the Longhorns' loss in the CWS, mainly because it was to the Fightin' Texas Aggies. John shares in Nick's baseball grief, but likens A&M to Texas' kid brother who has to win once in a while. Meanwhile, John is wastin' away in with his new margarita machine. The guys share what band they would have play at their funerals. No joke, John has additional life insurance to cover the cost of his last concert. Chris visits , a brewery built from an old train station. Their Kolsch, Under the Trestle, hit the spot on a warm summer day. Nick is still drinking La Verdad, but he's also digging bourbon these days. John breaks down his experience on the Austin Red Line beer train tour, highlighting 's Island Baby, a tiki beer aged in rum barrels. Then he hits us with a dad joke. Today's episode is summer crushers - the sequel. They try multiple refreshing options, starting with The Champagne of Beers, , then try craft options from , , and . Try and stay cool out there this summer, but don't touch the thermostat.

As always, thank you for listening!

First, John greatly apologizes for the delay of this episode. Starting a new job is hard.

This week, Chris had a face-to-face reunion with his workmates, whom he normally only sees via Zoom. However, due to fuel shortages in the Northeast, he is going to have to change his travel plans. Nick touches on the tragedy in Uvalde and how it has affected so many families. He also talks about how his two children are so vastly different and both need different things from him. John echos Nick's thoughts on Uvalde, and discusses how his wife, a teacher, responded. Later in the show, the team breaks down how they try to discuss awful events like this with their families. John visits , a new project in Austin, Texas with an out-of-this-world vibe. Chris drinks Fuzz from , and Nick eats popsicles for grown-ups, which reminds John of his "lit-sticks." We learn what sports teams the guys support and how they became fans. Nick reminisces about an awful trip to a theme park that ended with a twist. Then he hits us with a dad joke.  The featured beer style this week is the milk stout; we taste and enjoy 's version.

Chris was fortunate enough to hold a game-used Babe Ruth bat during his tour at the factory but might have to alter his travel plans due to a diesel shortage in the Northeast. Nick is excited that he and his wife picked a location for their first no-kids trip in a while. He also has some BIG news that he can’t give too many details about at the moment. John went to a very special graduation for one of his wife’s favorite students but had to give some hard news to his boss. We discuss interesting beverages we've had recently including a spicy Mexican lager from in Indianapolis, a multitude of Mexican lagers for Nick, and an interesting sweet potato ale from . Each of us then gives our personal theme song. John tells a story about going to and sitting in front of the Boston version of the Sandlot kids. Then he hits us with a dad joke. Finally, he discusses the sometimes sticky situation when you are trying to balance being the child of your parents but the parent of your child. Chris catches up with a family member that he’s not been able to catch up with for a while but has to deal with an unwanted guard parrot. Nick was able to celebrate some of his close friends' recent nuptials at a pool party but might have inhaled some unwanted fumes at a local indoor waterpark. John accepted a new position at a new company and is excited, but it is also a little bittersweet. Unfortunately, his daughter can’t catch a break when it comes to catching viruses and this time caught the flu. John also gets to check out Roughhouse Brewing. We discuss interesting beverages we've had recently including a seaweed wasabi and lime gose from in Lexington, a delicious cream ale from , and a fantastic sour brown ale from . We talk about how we would choose to serve prison sentences. Chris tells us about an amazing camping trip he went on with his son that almost had them redoing it because of misplaced keys. Chris comes through on Mother's Day and attends a fabulous Kentucky Derby watch party in Lexington. Nick also had a successful Mother's Day but is a little let down by one of his favorite go-to eateries. John treats his wife to a beautiful, home-cooked tomahawk chop steak for Mother's Day and is blown away by the new outdoor space at . We talk about interesting beers we've had this last week including a single-hop IPA from , an award-winning pilsner from , and an insane sundae smoothie sour from .

Then we shift from our regularly scheduled programming to our Mexican-style Lager and showdown. We taste, review, and rank our offerings as stand-alone beers and then use them to make micheladas which we also taste, review, and rank. John and Nick sample offerings from , , , and a surprise from . Chris tries offerings from West 6th Brewing and . Then all three of us try a macro offering in a . We did all find that our rankings for the stand-alone tastings were not the same as our rankings for the same beers in micheladas.
