Back in 2007, RIDOT produced a series of video podcasts, presented here as a single video, in order to promote public awareness of the I-195 reconstruction and relocation project through Providence. Don't you wish they tried this hard when it comes to current projects like the Washington Bridge? 😐

During the relocation and reconstruction of I-195 through Providence in the 2000's, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) put significant tim...

Propane tank exchanges like AmeriGas and Blue Rhino can be a shortcut when you need it, but at what cost? My local Ace Hardware sells both new tanks and onsite refills for less by nearly every measure. Grill smart this summer, and don't get ripped off!

Propane tank exchange companies like AmeriGas and Blue Rhino sure can be a fast and convenient way to get more fuel when you need it, but it comes at a signi...

As the tide comes in at Conimicut Point in Warwick, RI, dangerous rip currents can sweep a person off their feet, knock them down, and prevent them from being able to swim back to shore. Fortunately a simple yet groundbreaking new system (designed in at least in part by Mayor Frank Picozzi!) may help save lives.

Conimicut point in Warwick, Rhode Island sits at the mouth of the Providence River where it meets Narragansett Bay, with a two-thousand-foot sandbar extendin...

Welcome to the Providence Police Department Mounted Command’s stables at Roger Williams Park. The long-standing relationship between the department and the park is the result of an open space land agreement with the city. The horses housed here can frequently be seen grazing the paddocks around the facility along Cladrastis Ave. Though by appointment only, the stables are open to group tours throughout the year. Thanks for watching!

After many years in service, the Roger Williams Park fleet of pedal-craft were run down, and the Parks Department was struggling to maintain them. That’s when Cynthia and Allen Days stepped in, and in 2004 took over the operation of boating in the park, acting as a vendor for the city. It was soon after when the now iconic pedal powered Swan Boats were introduced.

The ponds and lakes of Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island have been synonymous with boating of all kinds for more than a century. The first peda...

In the late 1990's, Denny's began experimenting with a 1950's themed retro style diner layout in some locations. At one time there may have been as many as 40 across the United States, though it's unclear how many remain as of 2024. This location in Rhode Island has been closed and stripped of its Denny's identity for several years, though there's no mistaking the design. Join me for a walkthrough of this once bustling diner, including "flashbacks" to when the restaurant was open.
