The legendary Dr. Art Nowak is our guest for tomorrow's episode! Dr. Nowak literally wrote the book of pediatric dentistry, and he's been involved in the profession since the 1960's. Besides publishing dozens of research papers, Dr. Nowak has played a critical part in academics and shaping the field of pediatric dentistry that we are in today.
Today’s episode is special and we have a big announcement. Dr. Corey Hastings and I have been working tirelessly on building an online course specifically for pediatric dentists who want to start their own office. We created “Little Smiles Practice Mastery” to teach other pediatric dentists all of the business topics they didn’t teach us in school. This on-demand course will have almost 15 hours of lectures, spreadsheets, documents, and resources all guiding students on how to start a thriving pediatric dental practice.
Corey and I spend this episode sharing a beer and talking about why we are so passionate about being practice owners, along with outlining the resources in the course. The course will go live early this summer and we will be at AAPD with more information.

DSOs and private equity. It’s a hot button topic that we haven’t visited in a while. Chip Fichtner from Large Practice Sales sits down to share the updates. His firm helps broker deals between private practice pediatric dentists and the DSOs that want to partner with them.

I’m a few days late getting a picture out, but this weeks episode features the carnivore dentist Dr Kevin Stock. He’s a general dentist passionate about educating on the oral health benefits of a meat-based diet. We discuss how eating meat and stimulating jaw development may help reduce crowding and the need for orthodontic work. Our ancestors had very little dental crowding, so this made for a great pediatric discussion!

He sold his practice after several years of working and invested it all into Bitcoin. He since has gone on to start and grow multiple successful businesses related to dentistry. Crack a beer… this one’s a banger.
