Calling all Actors!
This is a great opportunity to get a real professional piece of work for your reel. Our unique program for 24 years is a hands-on experiential learning experience that teaches kids to make movies. Our special Advanced program is supervised by industry guest instructors and goes to film festivals. Shot on an ARRI Alexa Mini LF and top lenses, it will look and sound amazing.

Here are the roles we are seeking. If you are interested, email us at [email protected] with interest and we will send you sides and you can submit a self-tape.

Shoot is this weekend, 7/27 and 7/28. Schedule TBD.

Character Descriptions:

TIM: crazy guy, long beard. Eli from Caroline’s movie last year. Pacing everywhere, paranoid, out of his mind. 300% more rob. Hazmat suit if possible!

ROB: toned down, conflicted about his family, has photos around his house, he is ready for doomsday. Unkept, unbuttoned shirts, unkept, green/brown bottles around the house, dark house, artificial lighting, sodium v***r. Stubble, early-mid forties. Not nice shoes, dark pants.

CHARLOTTE: overly kept up, trying to men her relationship with her daughter, compensating for time with past from Rob, everything must be perfect (even her daughter). Does not care about prepping for the apocalypse. Single mom energy. Big natural colors, earthy tones. Natural light. Very bright.

EMMA: 16. Strong Charlotte influence, in the middle between her birth parents. She wants freedom from the stark lifestyle of her uptight mom, to go be with her father, who is the extreme opposite, in a conflict of opposition.

GREG: Clean cut, kept up, sharp, looks, nice smile, big presence, always in suits, clean-shaven. The cocky, self-absorbed, world revolves around Greg, according to Greg.

VANESSA: Intern at the news station. Challenging

Producer: in a suit, there for the ratings, not interested in the content, only wants views. Sharp and angry, and bitter.

RAMAZON robot voice (V.O.): smooth voice, calm, robotic.

Hello!
Our professional film program FILMSTERS Academy has been in existence for 22 years now and we are seeking actors for our Advanced film a Heist/Action caper. The program is mentored by top industry professionals - Director, AD, Producer, Gaffer, Cinematographer, Makeup, etc. and will be submitted for film festival consideration. The film is being shot on an Alexa Mini and will be a professional piece of work.

The shoot is this weekend Sat/Sunday. No pay but food and a work sample will be available. Here are the roles:

Vayne- 18 something, male. Similar to Cory in persistence, but more responsible and logical and less playful. He is very booksmart and enjoys finding solutions to obstacles. Witty and intense.
Ironic dressy aesthetic, khaki’s, stylish sweater vests over short sleeves, skater boy.

POPSTAR- confident, star power, apathetic, full of self, straight up mean, negative attributes are not discovered until the end of the film, must be able to sing, can fill the room, 20s-30s

Security #1- Rule follower, disgruntled, seen it all, cynical, 30s-50s

Security #2- absolutely no emotion but talks with immense care 20s-21

Waitress- straightforward, aged, drives comedy 50s-60s, easily annoyed. Waitress garb, waitress headband.

Manager- desperate for the attention of the star, does not have a voice and very submissive
30s-40s

Our Story

We look forward to another creative year of filmmaking with kids. It’s hard to believe that it is our 18th year of FILMSTERS Academy. To date, over 900 previous students have worked together to create 186 short films.

Each year, students move up to other levels and returning excited at the idea of developing and creating a short film from the conception to screen. Blending the feel of a summer camp with learning the creative process is our special niche. The fabric of our program is carried on through the staff in a 100% non­competitive, creative environment. Strengthening this is a core group of industry professionals to guide and assist.

We have grown our program with an emphasis on the professional experience of filmmaking. Set up like a movie set, we use real makeup, lights, costumes, props and wardrobe, sound and camera gear and mac platforms for our edit systems with the Adobe Suite of tools. This exceptional team of industry filmmakers and staff specialists provides our students with guidance in writing, directing, acting, lighting, camera and editing. It is a hands­on experiential learning style that enables them to develop their skills. We will have make up artists, stunt coordinators, special effects folks, real­ life writers, producers and directors, editors, cinematographers and sound people to offer a real world film experience for your child like no other film program for kids in this area.

It is an inspiration to all of us who make this program happen to witness and nurture the artistic voices and creative vision of your children as we teach the young filmmakers who will impact the world around them! And film camp is also just plain fun!
