I’m listening to the Linkin Park livestream and seeing some of the comments, a lot of praise for the band’s next chapter and a fair amount of ignorance.

Bands are artists, creators. No one is trying to replace Chester. The members want to create and share their art. Think: Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and so on.

No one is talking about the new drummer, Colin Brittain btw, who plays really well. Just that new frontwoman Emily Armstrong - a veteran singer from Dead Sara - isn’t Chester Bennington.

New members, original members, a new album, popular favorites, a world tour. And that’s just the next 8 weeks.

Looking forward to seeing what Linkin Park brings to heavy music in 2024! \m/

SiriusXM Octane shook up traditional FM radio with satellite and streaming.

Nik Nocturnal is doing the same for traditional music composition by making “metal in 30 seconds” and creating collabs with bands like Bad Wolves that have made it to the Big’Uns countdown list.

Oh wow, an actual tour coming within an hour of me that wouldn’t put me to sleep.

Last time I saw Megadeth was in Portland’s “intimate” Roseland Theater. Crap, that was over 25 years ago.

Another fantastic tour announcement! This one is at least in the same state as me. Roseland Theater in Portland is in a sketchy part of town, but amazing to see artists up close with a capacity of only a few hundred. Saw Megadeth play here and several others.
