Just another day at Tim Hortons, clocked in from 3-10PM. Assigned to dining duty, sweeping, mopping, and wiping tables. Dealing with a group of unruly teenagers who left a mess without buying anything. Asked them politely to clean up after themselves, only to be met with shouts of 'You're paid to do it!' 🧹

🙂 It doesn't take much to be kind and polite. A little consideration goes a long way. Oh well reality hits

So this classmate of mine last year sa Supply Chain Management is the same age as my parents. Everyday na ginawa ng diyos ay may baon sya lagi 😆 fruits, sandwich etc.

Tapos lagi nya yan shineshare sakin to the point na one time nagdala siya ng malaking ziploc ng chocolates tapos kuha lang daw ako

Di na rin ako nagulat na pwede siya maging teacher kasi yung background nya sa industry is nakaka-wow which is sa geophysics, oil drilling kinemelu like yung brain ko jan ????

Wala lang nakakaproud maging classmate/palamuning anak/friend kasi makikita mo kahit malaki age gap namin yung effort niya sa group works nun is very commendable, makiki-sit in nga ako next time ✌🏻

Just got my US visa approved today 🇺🇸

Let me share my experience. So originally I was scheduled for interview this December 2024 pa but then my friend told me na nakapag-resched siya this Feb 2024, I think he's scheduled sometime in May pa so I was at work that time and may pasok sa school after so kinagabihan ko pa chineck online kung may available slots pa. Mga bandang 12 midnight ako nagcheck and ayun ang daming slots for feb and I just chose Feb 14 (Happy Valentine's Day) para matapos na rin sa isipin ko. 😆

I went to the location for interview ng 30 minutes before my schedule which is 7:45 pa. Sa mga scheduled for interview pala, DO NOT bring big bags like backpack pwede na yung belt bag (kasi yun yung dala ko). Wag din kayo magdadala ng sanitizers, lip products, or v**e (may dala yung nasa harap ko) kasi for sure papatapon sa inyo. Kung may kasama kayo na sinamahan lang kayo, pwedeng ipahawak niyo sa kanila para di mo na itapon. Literally, dalhin niyo lang yung documents, passport, phone (not necessary).

Yung friend ko may dalang backpack kasi papasok pa siya ng school after eh bawal nga backpack sa loob so parang naging tactic na din ng isang malapit na convenience store dun na magpaiwan ng bag but you have to pay $20 🥲

So papapilahin kayo muna and you have to present your passport and they're gonna ask what time interview mo and they're gonna validate sa list nila. Papapasukin ka sa loob (mala-immigration pa din yung style yung parang snake line haha) and then may desk dun na idodouble check nila mga papers mo like study permit, DS-160, validity ng passport, and of course 2x2 photo na may date stamp sa likod. Then pila ulit tapos tatawagin kayo isa isa nung mga parang sa immigration din na naka-black vest and papatanggal lahat ng metal sa katawan (belt, necklaces, etc.) and i-eempty pockets mo. If you have your phone with you, itatabi nila and then you can pick it up after. Dadaan ka sa metal detector thing and pasok ulit sa loob papauupuin kayo.

Pag mga 5-6 people na kayo na nakaupo, i-eescort kayo na naka-one line paakyat kung san iinterview talaga. Bawal daw makipag-interact pero chinichika ko yung friend ko na nakasimangot yung mga officers na magiinterview 😆

Pupunta kayo isa isa sa window to validate your passport, inask ako if first time ko ba kumuha ng US visa which is no. Tinanong lang when na-issue and nag-expire. Kukuhain yung fingerprints after then balik sa pila.

Eto na yung isa isa ulit pinapapunta sa window and eto yung mga questions sakin:
✅ What do you wanna do in the US?
✅ What's your school and what program/s are you taking here in Canada?
✅ What was your work before? (Sa Pinas)
✅ Who are you travelling with if you're given the visa?
✅ What's your plan or what industry do you wanna work for after finishing your studies?
✅ When did you arrive here in Canada?

Talk casually lang as if talking to a friend without elaborating too much baka sabihin ang daldal naman neto 😂 right after those questions sinabi lang na "Okay, you're visa has been approved!" tapos bigay ng papel na may instructions pano i-track yung passport mo kasi I chose the option na i-pick up sa Canada Post.

Ayun lang naman ang nangyari, parehas kami ng friend ko na na-approve (first time niya mag-apply) siguro kumain kayo before the interview kasi nagutom ako 😂 Let me know if may questions kayo, I'll be more than willing to answer. 🫶🏻
