The Agouti is a relatively small rodent that lives in Central and South America. Researchers recognize 11 different species. They place all of these creatures in the taxonomic genus Dasyprocta. Their closest relatives are the pacas and acouchis. This mammal looks a bit like an oversized guinea pig. They have rounded bodies, brown or grey fur, and small ears. Their front paws have five toes, while their rear paws have just three.

The various species reach a length of up to two feet long. At their heaviest, some individuals surpass eight pounds! Though they are large for rodents, their size simply doesn’t compare to their cousin, the capybara.

African lions are large, muscular, barrel-chested cats. They have a rounded head, round ears, short fur, and a long tail with a tuft of hair at the end. Male lions grow a luxurious collar of long hair, called a “mane,” around their necks.

African Elephants are the world’s largest land animal. These gentle giants can be distinguished from their Indian counterparts by their huge ears. African elephants can reach heights of 13 feet (4 meters) at the shoulder. They can weigh as much as 14,000 pounds (6,350 kilograms).

There are two species of African elephant: the African Bush (or Savanna) elephant and the African Forest Elephant.

Aardwolf is the common name for a small, insectivorous, hyena-like African mammal, Proteles cristatus, characterized by a dog-like appearance, hind limbs shorter than fore limbs, five digits on the forepaws, a mane along the back of the neck that can be held erect, several black stripes on the body and legs, and less powerful jaws than the similar-appearing striped hyena. While the aardwolf belongs to the hyena family Hyaenidae, it is the only extant member in the subfamily Protelinae, with the true hyenas belonging to the subfamily Hyaeninae.
