We’re late again, but we’re pleased to announce that WE HAVE A (mostly) BOOK-ACCURATE DRACULA! A made-for-TV movie made in the Czech Republic, Hrabe Drakula gives us a bearded dracula, a competent Jonathan, a LIZARD CLIMB, and more! And the best part: YOU, listener, can watch it on Youtube RIGHT...

Thank you for your patience!

Christopher Lee returns! We swoon over book-accurate moustaches and a competent Jonathan, we scream about asylum toilet boxes, and we cheer for some of the most animated taxidermy we’ve ever seen this side of Evil Dead 2!

An Update for you, Children of the Night!

We continue to work to catch up on our backlog. Currently, we have both our fourth full episode, 1970's "Count Dracula," and our fourth Vampire Bite, "Interview With a Vampire," recorded. We are hoping to finish up editing both of these by the end of the month.

From there, we will work on getting episode 5 recorded, as well as our Vampire Bite discussing vampires in tabletop games. We hope to be back to a more regular release schedule soon. Thank you for your patience!

Hungarian actor Béla Lugosi was crowned “Hollywood’s Prince of Darkness” for his portrayal of the vampire Count Dracula in several films. But today few people know he was a union leader and anti-fascist who fought real-life monsters. From actor to activist Lugosi was born Béla Ferenc Dezső

WE’RE BACK! Sorry about the unexpected break, listeners! As Andrew will tell you in this episode’s into, our household came down with a case of The Plague near the end of December, preventing us from getting this episode edited and uploaded until now! We’re all fully recovered now, and will be...

Update: THEY'RE ALIVE! THEY'RE ALIIIIVE-- wait, wrong movie... Regardless, we are all still alive and fully recovered! We've fallen behind in our scheduling, but we will get caught up on episodes as soon as we can!

Hey there, Children of the Night! It is with great regret that I must inform you that our household has been infected with the Plague. We're all feeling pretty poorly, and as a result, our next episode will be delayed. Sorry about that! Send your good thoughts our way, please! We'll get back to our regularly scheduled content as soon as we can!

Welcome, Children of the Night, to another episode of Vampire Bites! This time, we take a look at the 2000 film Shadow of the Vampire, a metacommentary on the filming of Nosferatu that imagines Max Schreck as an actual vampire. Did we enjoy the film? Did we think it was trying too hard to be dee

Hope you're having a fangtastic Friday, Children of the Night! I'm happy to announce that our very first Vampire Bites episode is now available on Stitcher, Spotify, and on our website at deadandwatching.com! Vampire Bites are shorter episodes that don't QUITE fit our guideline for adaptations, but they involve spooky things and we want to talk about them anyways.

For our first Vampire Bite, we discus the delightful 80's classic, Monster Squad!
