Our BAK Magazine guest - , a Dominican, NYC- born creative executive and record producer, has played a pivotal role as an A&R to some of the most important projects to be released over the course of the last decade.

Widely recognized for her ability to uncover talent and synthesize ideas into breathtaking bodies of work, Mariel has grown into one of the most influential, behind-the-scenes players in music.

Selected by industry peers, this individual was among the youngest nominees for the 2024 R&B/Hip-Hop Power Player Award.

This year her work as an A&R, Producer and Executive Producer on Cowboy Carter, CRASH and RAYE who she signed to Human Re Sources in 2022 has amassed 11+ GRAMMY nominations-breaking multiple records.

Lisa Marie recently had the opportunity to catch up with Mariel to explore the evolution of her journey into the A&R field, the emerging artists she finds inspiring, the integration of her personal identity with her professional endeavors, and the ways in which her understanding of artistry has transformed over the years.

This week at Ralph’s Used & Rare Books! 📚

Another legendary guest has stopped by the BAK Neighborhood. We introduce Kei Henderson , the founder of Atlanta based , a creative development agency + incubator disguised as a record label, management, and publishing company designed nurture, guide and build artists and managers.

Coming off a big week with a major announcement, her Third and Hayden has formed an artist development partnership with powerhouse . Kei is a master innovator who is always ahead of the curve in this ever changing music business.

Being an artist is one of the most challenging jobs there is. Whether it’s being vulnerable in front of the world, the countless hours spent touring, or the endless demand to create something new, artists are routinely pushed past their breaking point for the sake of their career.

Regardless of how they feel or what their personal circumstances are, creatives are continually urged to pursue creation at all costs. But what if there was a creative entity out there who prioritized mental health? It was this question, in part, that inspired KeiSaundra “Kei” Henderson to launch an organization of her very own.

Motivated by her own mental health journey and her years of experience as a Grammy Award-winning music executive, creative entrepreneur, and cultural visionary, Kei established Third & Hayden in 2021 and hasn’t turned back since.

Our very own Lisa Marie recently had the privelage of speaking with the entrepreneur about her vision for Third and Hayden, the importance of caring for one’s mental health, and how she maintains her youthful spirit

It’s time again… we’re now in SYNY3 mode ready to make another album with team P&P

Here’s a little story

Back in 2021 we sat with the P&P team to discuss an ambitious idea of creating an annual moment in music that would impact culture. This idea revolved around producing a compilation album comprised of emerging artists we were excited about. We would surround this album with unforgettable moments and other cool stuff.

After throwing a bunch of names in a hat, we collectively landed on “See You Next Year” . It felt perfect.

We announced that we were making an album and shortly after, the one & only synth god - Mike Dean raised his hand to executive produce SYNY 1.. the rest was history. We invited an eclectic group of artists of different genres, shot a bunch of videos in NY and with the help of Mike - the SYNY1 album was made!

Shortly after the successful release of SYNY1, we started planning SYNY2 with big dreams. We had the wild idea of going to an iconic place like Shangri-La to make an album. Soon enough the idea became a reality and we spent 8 days with some of our favorite artists to witness magic unfold. Unreal.

And now, here we are, 3 years later planning the 3rd installment.

It’s been a joy to witness the journeys of each one of the artists from vol 1 & 2 since the release of the projects. All doing incredible stuff in their own right.

We can’t wait to see what SYNY3 brings. Stay tuned.

Back in 2022 we were excited to have Teezo Touchdown on the innaugural P&P + BAK See You Next Year album. He was daring, exciting, fresh and created a lane all his own. Over the last 2 years he’s soared to new heights and is quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in the world.

Congrats on your Rookie Of The Year Honor. The best is yet to come. Always stop and smell the roses 🌹

Everywhere you look, technology is disrupting the daily fabric of our lives. Whether through the lens of e-commerce, education, or entertainment, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital twins, and virtual reality are reconstructing our approach to a number of different dimensions. One area in particular where the playing field is being especially razed is event planning and ex*****on.

As the lines continue to blur between digital and physical, hybrid creative directors are being tasked with executing remarkable experiences both online and IRL. But what is a hybrid creative director? And what is it exactly that they do? This is where Dani Slocki comes in.

Our very own Lisa Marie recently had the opportunity to speak to a visionary in this space, the super talented about what it means to play the role of a hybrid creative director, some of her favorite projects, and how she envisions technology reshaping creative communities
