I finally figured out why Republican leaders are willing to humiliate themselves to support Trump when we all know they can't stand him.
It's because he was able to do what they couldn't since 1964 when the whole country went blue because the Republican nominee opposed the Civil Rights Act.
They knew they lost the minority vote since Republicans were now associated with being against civil rights, so they had to come up with strategies to win back the whites who supported equality for all.
First, there was the law and order strategy, claiming that while equality was granted, it brought crime into neighborhoods.
Then came the Southern strategy, which painted welfare recipients as lazy welfare queens taking tax dollars without wanting to work.
Next was the illegal alien strategy (they use the word "alien" intentionally), which argued that immigrants were flooding the borders, adding to crime, and taking away tax dollars.
Then it was the anti-woke strategy with emphasis on protecting our children from the g**s, drag queens, trans people and DEI, which said inclusivity is harming our children and causing reverse racism.
Now, it's the Christian strategy since they alienated many with their bigoted language and policies. They know they can evoke God and Christian tenets to win back not only whites but also other Christians who follow what they believe the Bible teaches.
Trump ran for his own ego but along with the help of FOX News and conservative talk radio (Rush Limbaugh), he was able to tap into the grievances that would give these racist white supremacists a chance to reel non-racist white people back in.
Trump is a master marketer and knows how to use TV and his marketing skills to win people over. That is the ONLY reason they need him. He did what they couldn't do.
He better watch his back, because they don't need him anymore after the election.
The movement has made itself known, and they believe they have enough people in strategic positions like the Supreme Court (Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Roberts, etc.), district courts (Aileen Cannon), and electors who won't certify if Democrats win, etc. AND they think they have enough of the population to buy into their strategy, unbeknownst to them.
They are trying to take this country back to Jim Crow, but this time it will include ALL minorities, not just Blacks, and they are trying to make women second-class citizens and subject to men.
But their main objective is to dismantle our democratic institutions so they will never lose power again.
We MUST vote blue down the ballot for the next decade on the local, state, and federal levels to stop this. They had a head start, but we are aware now.
Our united vote is the only way to stop this. Let's show them what a democracy is all about and vote them out.
