Bees Win! The girls demolish Lincoln 69-40 at the Hive. Kenley Rogers scored her 1,000th career point in leading all scorers with 16. Emma Moore hit 14 while Kailey Hammond drained 11. The Bees defense forced 25 turnovers. Next up: Grafton on 12/12!

The football season ends with a 28-14 loss to Hoover High. The radio team thanks the 1200 Bees fans who joined us for our YouTube broadcast today (7 percent of the entire city!) and thank our seniors and their families for some wonderful moments.

The radio team extends its sympathies to the family of state champion football coach Gerry White, who we lost today at the age of 72. Coach White became a familiar voice to East fans with his guest commentary on games including earlier this season. Coach was a big help to me years ago when I needed his kindness. We are devastated by the loss. Love to Kathy White who was my conduit to North Marion for a generation and to my friend Cochran the Coach’s daughter, along with his Bees family Brent Cochran, Morgan Cochran, and Evan Cochran. Gerry had two other children Bryan and Sheri who graduated from East and were part of the athletic program.

East drops the East-West game 48-14 and finishes the regular season 8-2. Ian Crookshanks threw for two touchdowns and now has the school record for “most touchdowns by a quarterback”. The prediction below has East retaining our home playoff seed for next week.

Another great night of football ends with a Bees win in a squeaker 35-34 over Lewis County. Ian Crookshanks and Dom Fantasia combined for 300 yards of offense while Avery Brown snagged a total of 99 yards receiving.
With tonight’s win East should grab enough points to remain in contention for a home playoff game. Next up, for the 103rd time: the East/West game!

Ian Crookshanks ran for two touchdowns and threw for another (off a broken play that almost ended in a sack!) and Dom Fantasia ran for over 100 yards.
