It looks like 2021 isn't going to be the return to writers events that we all hoped! We are so disappointed that Byron Writers Festival has been cancelled this year. It's one of the best writers events on the Australian calendar and we can't wait to see it back next year! Canberra Writers Festival also isn't going ahead this month - stay tuned for new dates when they are announced. In the meantime, looks like we'll be bunkering down and working through our reading pile until we can attend some festivals again!

Current Read: Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel. Although released in 2014, there are eerie similarities between the early chapters of Station Eleven and the year we recently experienced. A sudden pandemic spreads around the world, sparking panic and mass casualty. Thankfully, COVID-19 did not have the apocalyptic effects seen in this haunting novel. Mandel's sharp prose and expertise in crafting a compelling narrative over multiple timelines is on show in this fantastic read.
