Sweet Dax wanted to run with me so bad the other day! I warned him it would be difficult and that he couldn’t give up. He was so excited I said yes that he didn’t care about the possible hardship until about 1/2 mile in. We were on a long uphill climb and I noticed he wasn’t at my heels anymore, when I turned around this is what I saw...(scroll for pic) It cracked me up 🤣 I absolutely couldn’t blame him because I know the feeling. I walked back to him and explained that if he hung in there and pushed himself a while longer then we would get to the top and be able to experience the beautiful view on the downhill back home. He was reluctant but the idea of being home was what got him moving again. We pressed onward and made it to the top. When he finally saw the view he said “mom you were right!”. Sometimes in struggle we want to give up but if we choose to press on we may look back someday and realize that it was the struggle that made the view so beautiful at the top. We may find that without that soul stretching struggle that feeling of truly coming home to ourselves would never have been possible. Your struggle is your gift! Press on my friends and trust that your beauty and your true self are about to be revealed! Thanks for teaching me so much Daxton 🥰 and could you guys seriously take one more look at him just chillin on the side of the road? It still cracks me up! I love him! 💕🤣💕

Some days are just more painful than others. I try to remember on those days to connect with that part of myself that knows she is OK just the way she is. I try to reconnect with the memory of being a child playing outside in her olden day dress making a perfect mud pie to share with all of her friends. Not worried in the slightest about the perceived mess of it all. I imagine I’m holding her hand and allowing her to take me for a walk of innocence and wonder instead of me trying to drag her along on my path of pursuing perfectionism, running from pain, and tripping us both as I grasp for self worth. When I am with her I remember who I am and who we all are. I remember that our worth has always been infinite and always will be. When I’m with her I remember that I’m safe and that peace is always within me...even through the pain.

The other day I cooked a turkey that had been in my freezer forever. Is it normal to eat a turkey sandwich for lunch then dinner then breakfast, lunch, and dinner the next day too? 😬🤷🏻‍♀️🤪 idk but good thing I love turkey sandwiches!!! 🦃 🥪💗

I know I’m not alone in feeling the loss of so many anticipated and important events being cancelled due to COVID-19. This girl was going to compete at State Cheer this year as a freshman and even though she didn’t get that opportunity I want her to know how proud I am of her. From her intense gymnastics training as a young girl to several years of competitive cheer, she has dedicated countless hours to perfecting her skills and has a true love for what she does. She can do it all from basing to flying and excels wherever she is asked to be. Her attitude of hard work and dedication is admirable to all who know her. I don’t doubt that that important part of her personality will get her through whatever life throws at her now and always. Avia even though you didn’t get to compete at State this year you are still a champion! I love you ❤️

One thing I’ve been grateful for during this crazy time is the opportunity to play games and make puzzles with the kids. Things we wouldn’t have normally chosen to do on a night off have unexpectedly become super fun bonding experiences. Only frustrating part is when you stay up way past midnight just to finish and you end up with one missing piece!!! I’ve offered my kids a small cash reward for its return. I just want to see it finished! Any chance you’ve seen it? 😂🧩🧜‍♀️ Also who else grew up loving The Little Mermaid!? I think I could quote the entire thing by heart. Can you finish this quote?! “Ariel! How you doin kid?”...

This is the best time for self care! When the moon is so full you can reach out and touch it...or even walk on it! Could it be that is the first woman to walk on the moon!!? Or maybe she just found an epic melting snowing drift in the parking lot and couldn’t stop herself from jumping out of the car for an impromptu photo shoot? 😂 One more reason to love this girl, she’s so adventurous 🥰🙌🌕🚀👩🏼‍🚀

Do things that remind your soul that it can soar!!! I mean make time now! I think we are forgetting that we were made to experience joy. Yes we will have self doubt, fear, and pain and that’s all part of the human experience but JOY is also! We must choose it! Make choices that remind you of your nature to fly! And if you don’t know what those choices are for you then maybe it’s time to do some soul searching and discover it! You are worth it! Your light is dying to shine!!! Do it!! Now!!! Soar!!!!
