Soaking in my own self confidence ✨

As strange as it may sound, despite being active-ish on Instagram, I have struggled with self-confidence and my perception of myself. Taking photos has been a significant challenge for me due to various reasons. While there were obvious factors like not knowing how to pose and dealing with lighting, even when I tried to address those issues, I still lacked the confidence to feel positive about the process. Let me be honest with you... I used to avoid looking in the mirror in the morning, deliberately stayed away from group videos and snapchats, which only left me feeling isolated as I fed into my insecurities.

This year, I made a vow to become a representation not only for my children but also for myself. My lack of self-confidence has held me back from pursuing what I love—being a creator. Therefore, I want to take this opportunity to be present and honest with all of you about my journey of self-love. I aim to be bolder, more confident, and share these digitally documented moments with you.

5 things I wish I knew when transitioning to natural hair ➰

These were all tough things to try to remember when transitioning to natural hair. I used to expect results immediately and I was so impatient with the process that it felt like I would never reach this point. I get a lot of questions about what was the hardest thing to do, what tips I have and what I’ve learned. I believe that starting with these 5 reminders would really help.

There were times where I thought a product would work wonders in my hair to only find out it was horrible at the time. Those same products I actually use now (will post them in another video) and work amazing!

Another hard one to accept was that even though I had done a big chop, I still had to continuously trim it because the damage was on uneven levels and it felt like they would never be gone.

All these things really were important to remind myself throughout my transitioning period and wish I had someone cheer me on!

So no worries besties, I got you and you got this! 🤗

If I’m being honest my hair isn’t as healthy as it used to be but we’re working on it. There’s been some hair loss, heat damage and breakage that’s needing some attention.

Do you ever feel like you’re barely staying afloat, doggy paddling in the water, or not knowing what you’re doing? Same here sis, same here.

Can I get a like for relatability? 😆 Haha, on a serious note, I struggle with juggling parenthood, being an entrepreneur, content creator and navigating important relationships in my life - I’m here to tell you, I’m figuring out day by day.

So here’s what we’re gonna try to do, TOGETHER — Let’s start by remembering that not everything is in our control. You, myself, or anyone for that matter doesn’t always have all the answers.

What I can ensure is that we’re all watching our own journeys unfold, imperfectly.

How do I ACTUALLY feel about this protective style? 🤔

Well let me start off by saying I’m a lazy curly girl/naturalista. My main styles are: wash and go, sleek pony, sleek bun and high bun. Or just rock my bed head like a champ.

This style took me almost two hours (not including the washing portion), my fingers were cramped (cause like I said, I’m a lazy natural) but I’ve vowed to explore more with !!

So, the answer to my first question is... I LOVE IT! Although there were tears and a loss of patience, it’s made me love it much more. I’ll keep you all up to date on how the style lasts!

Wednesday 🐚

Someone just asked me how long it takes to do my hair everyday. They were surprised to hear that I only washed my styled my hair about, once a week!

His next response was “damn so your hair stays [amazing] all week?!”

Oh how I WISH it stayed amazing all week and to be honest I kind of push it a week and a half sometimes before having a full out 🚿

If there are two things I’d never forget is and !! 🪴

I’ve been recently loving this firming moisturizer! It left my skin feeling tight but moisturized. It’s still in the testing phase but I’m always open to giving a shot!

Cool thing is they are all vegan and cruelty free!

How do you all feel about clean ingredients? Do you use them or are you open to using anything?!

If you don’t already know, I was never a fan of lipstick (totally a gloss girl!). Yet for some reason lipstick formulas never work on my lips. The skin on my lips are sensitive and prone to be dry.

So, when I share with you all a lipstick, you better believe that I truly love it!

🍃 Happy to all my fellow leaders, influencers, teachers and entrepreneurs in the black community. Although we celebrate everyday - this is our month to carelessly roar as loud as we want!
As we step into the second month of the year let’s reboot, reenergize and keep grinding!

🍃 I’ve had major serotonin boosts from new changes in my routine and planning. Self achievements are the ultimate high! So in this short month accomplish ONE thing you desire. Even if it’s something small - celebrate all your small achievements.

A late post!

I’ve been enjoying these new goodies from and wanted to share my favourite two!
➿ Soft Definition Gel: I’m not the type to really like gels but this one gave an amazing hold without the hard cast!
➿ Bouncy Cream: if anyone knows me, they know I love a good cream and this was pretty good! Nice and thick and gave my ends a nice coating before the gel!
