Bluff picked up the dice next. He held them for a moment, feeling their weight, and then sent them tumbling down the table. They came to rest on a nine. Both men exhaled slowly, each knowing the dance had just begun.

Back and forth they went, rolls of five, six, and eight keeping them in the game. Each man calculated his moves, eyes flicking between the dice and his opponent, trying to psych the other out. As the stakes climbed higher, the crowd grew more animated, whispers of bets on the side spreading like wildfire.

Then, in a moment that felt like slow motion, Brettski rolled the dice. They bounced once, twice, and then settled on a seven. The crowd gasped. Brettski's face remained stoic, but inside, he felt a pang of defeat.

Bluff grinned, the corner of his mouth curling up. But the battle was not over. Bluff took the dice, his eyes meeting Brettski’s with a spark of determination. He rolled, and the dice danced across the table, finally landing on another seven. The crowd erupted, unable to contain their excitement.

Both men stood there, each having tasted the sting of loss and the thrill of a draw. They shook hands, the competition over, but their rivalry as fierce as ever. In the end, it wasn’t just about the money; it was about the respect earned in the heat of the game.
