Last March 25, the Claret Swimming Team competed with the different teams in the PSZCAA Meet 2023. “The body may be battered and bruised, but their spirit will never be broken.”
Congratulations, Claret Football Team, on such a close game on the day of March 19th, and it's always been impressive to see a tight match with such a small margin of victory.
They were excited to be able to compete for the championship, worked hard for it, and were eager to show their skills and prove themselves on the field. They all had the same goal: to win. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. They gave it their all that day, and that's what matters. They worked hard, never gave up, and fought until the end. That kind of dedication and effort is something to be proud of. As they said, “There are more PZCAAs to come” and they will use this experience to push themselves more to be the best that they can be.
Above all, to honor their beloved coach, they dedicate the game to Coach Nonong who was a true champion, and if he was here, he would be very proud of their achievement. His memory will live forever in their hearts.
We are so proud of you and all of your hard work. We know that you will continue to achieve great things and push yourselves to new and greater heights.

Despite not practicing for two years, the Arnis team performed magnificently during the PSZCAA games on March 18—qualifying two of them to compete in the Division Meet.
The team faced difficulties and conflicts such as synchronization, forms, and time since the junior high and senior high have different schedules. "Overall, we did our best, and okay naman kame sa outcome," said Azeya Yamongan, one of the players of the arnis team.
Coach Edzel Azur stressed the significance of improving the players' technical and tactical abilities. It was developed during their training but was not well implemented because the practices were limited. "I think we need to set specific training schedules, times, and dates," said the coach.
The team would like to thank their supporters for motivating them to keep practicing, to improve with their anyo, and to memorize them. They won the competition because of their courage. The coach also wishes to thank the players for their efforts. "I hope we can win more golds next year," he added.

On March 19, despite how crucial and tense the games were, we were still astounded with what the Claret Boys' Basketball Team had showcased throughout their gameplay in their last two matches for PSZCAA Meet 2023.
When we talk about succeeding, it does not always mean winning, but it could also segway to multiple times of downfall. We may not have gotten the gold, but we believe that this isn’t something to be sad about. In the interview, Adrian Atilano shared about what he and his team felt after this loss, highlighting that they weren’t satisfied with the results and with this they will exert more effort and practice more efficiently to correct their mistakes to enable them to do better, next time.
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” stated by Confucius. This quote has summarized the teams’ response to the result of their game and accurately shows how passionate and determined they are individually and as a team.
Congratulations, Claretians!

The Claret Girls' Basketball Team executed a thrilling match last March 18, which led them to their first victory match this PSZCAA Meet 2023. The excitement and eagerness to win filled the entire court.
As said by one of the rookie players, it wasn’t really an easy win because of the same pressure that they’ve experienced from their previous match. Despite all the pressures and body pains they've endured, they have improved a lot, and they are really confident and determined to win.
Regardless of the pressure they’ve felt because they’re on the home court of the opposing team, they still continued to defend their ground, still did their best, and listened to what their coach instructed them to do.
It was indeed a job well done for our Claret Girls' Basketball Team. You made all of the Claretians proud.

The Claret Basketball Team delivered another thrilling performance last March 18, making us Claretians prouder than ever. The two consecutive victories were a significant step toward the PSZCAA Meet 2023. The intensity of the atmosphere filled the entire court.
The games were much different than their previous match, so the team had to make a few adjustments before heading into the game. Then preparations were, "practice hard, consistency, focus on the defense, execute the play properly, and always focus on the game," said one of the teammates.
Some challenges, such as turnovers and passes, were encountered, but the basketball team regained their composure, polished their mistakes, and always followed the coach's orders.
This incredible achievement is another big step in your journey. Congratulations, Claretians! Continue to be passionate and leave memorable moments!

Another oustanding performance was showcased in yesterday’s Chess event. The players have shared their insights and thoughts that filled their minds throughout the intense weekend while they were playing.
In spite of the event's intensity, they have both executed their best gameplay that led one of them to participate in the next level which is the division meet. They have stated that “fear” and “contemplating on choices” can result in an unforeseen turn.
Chess is indeed a very complex sport that requires much skill and practice. Upon being in the game, it is to take note that “Accuracy is always the key to success” owing to the fact that every move and decision you make could cost everything and also nothing.
Their coach, Miss Desiree Balugay, has also mentioned her sentiments on how proud she is of her team that despite the short amount of time to prepare, they were still able to reach the end with a victory

For the Claretians, you are still the winner in our hearts!
Jean Casimiro, one of the players said that practicing in preparation for their games made a huge impact on their triumph in the first match yesterday. They also tuned up in order to determine one's strengths and weaknesses. Their coach always encourages them to never give up and to always remember that as long as the ball is still under their control, they should keep on kicking and running after it so others won't be able to reach for it.
Coach Remigio Jocson highlighted the importance of training and practices prior to the games. The coach also stated the techniques his players need to work on in order to improve and play better next time.
To the Futsal Team, the whole Claretian community is proud of you. You've kept the ball, defended your goal, and achieved a great feat. Congratulations!

It was the second day of this year's PSZCAA meet for the Claret Girls' Basketball Team. On March 12, 2023, after two years of not having this activity, the team fought a big fight against Southern City Colleges.
Eya, one of the players, stated that the difference between their first game and their second was the confidence that they had. It was understandable to be nervous at first, but the confidence naturally crept in.
Playing for the first time again in two years was not easy, but they learn every day from their experiences and gain more confidence each day, and those will serve as a foundation for their future games. Eya encouraged her team that no matter what happens, win or lose, what matters the most is that they gave their best. She is thankful to those who gave their endless support to her and to her teammates.
"That's what learning is, after all; not whether we lose the game, but how we lose and how we've changed because of it, and what we take away from it that we never had before, to apply to other games. Losing, in a curious way is winning." - Richard Bach

On March 11, 2023, the Claret Volleyball Team (Boys and Girls) played their respective astounding and uproaring matches against the Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
The girls did their best to stabilize their defense and strengthen their attacks, and their efforts on the court were truly remarkable. "Our match wasn't really that good, though we did our best. We will continue to keep the ball flying and to make the Claretians proud," one of the team's players said.
Determined to get their first win this year, the roosters won against the eagles, making it their first success on that day. "I'm happy, kase nakuha namin ang first panalo ngayon." The team truly performed a remarkable play against the opposing school.
"The most important thing is that we learn from the match, whether we win or lose," the coach encouraged the team.
The Claret Volleyball Team would like to thank the Claretians for their support both on and off the campus. The journey may be difficult, but the reward is well worth it. Excellent work, Claretians!

“no pain, no gain”
Any effort or hard work you put in will be rewarded with success. If you want to achieve anything, you need to be willing to put in the effort, and indeed, the Claret Red Roosters Taekwondo Team, with their trainer, Master David Yuson Sr. and Head Coach, Coach Daniel Angelito Hernandez, put up a spirited fight on March 11 and earned two victories!
The players described how they were both joyful and enthusiastic, and anxious and pressured. Nonetheless, despite their nervousness, they managed to win the game by not allowing it to control them. They maintained their optimism and self-belief with the aid of various sources of inspiration, including friends, family, mentors, and loved ones. Also, the team would like to say to us, “Continue to support us, and we will do our best for all of you.”

Congratulations, Claret Futsal Team, for an evenly matched game!
The team gave the words "enjoy" and "intense" as their responses when asked to sum up their games against ADZU and ICAS de Calarian yesterday in one word. They also mentioned that they have improved their playing abilities, and also experienced pressure since it’s a battle that everyone has been waiting for. The captain also spoke of the pressure, saying, "As the Captain Ball, the team and the coach depended on me."
But, they refused to allow the pressure of the competition to get to them and continued to work harder, and indeed, all the hard work had paid off. You all performed well, and we are proud of your efforts and achievements!
