Hackers are getting better and better at using legit looking emails.

They have "Facebook" as the name on the email.

They are using better English grammar.

They are using Facebook's email template, including colors and even fonts.

They are using Facebook disclaimer text, too.
(Hey, they are using a text warning against phishing emails! They must be legit! Uh... nope! That's what they want you to think!)

If you aren't cautious, you will click the button in the email to complete what you think is verifying your account, when in fact you are giving hackers your login email and password. Then they have you.

Oops.

Ever said that before? Of course you have.

I've made lots of mistakes in my life.

One I remember was walking out of the computer room and turning off the light switch.
No big deal.
Except that turned off the computer. Dumb setup I know.

Except that my older brother was using it. He was writing a paper for school.

Another trick is to send you a malicious post through messenger. It looks like a Youtube video (but it isn't) and it has some sentence to the effect of "Hey is this you in this video?" that gets you to click it out of curiosity. "What? There is a video of ME on Youtube???"

Then they got ya.

Ever have something stolen from you? We all have.

Another Hacked Facebook Account... recovered!
Someone's account was hacked through a video shared in Messenger. The hackers then changed the password and started pestering the account holder's Facebook friends for money. The hackers then created a fake two-step authentication procedure to make it more difficult for the account holder to get their access back, even after changing the password! I got the account back, kicked the hackers out, resecured the account and deleted the hackers' fake authentication requirement! The account holder now has their account back and their friends no longer get spam messages for money!
