HAPPY SATURDAY BEAUTIFUL BEINGS 🌞 Of all the certificates, diplomas, degrees, blah blah blah, I've received, the one I'm most proud of is my high school diploma!! Home life, as for most of us, was a complete mess. There was fussing, literal fighting, pettiness, ect. Then, I had the nerve to get pregnant at 17 🤦🏾‍♀️. I had to fight so hard to not give up on myself, to not run away from home, to not have another nervous breakdown. It was bad y'all 😓. What kept me going is the fact that I didn't want to be a statistic and that I was bringing a child into the world! My child needed to know that it's mother is a fighter and no matter what is thrown at us we will face it head on. I delivered my son 3 months into my senior year, was out for 2 months but I signed up for home school before the end of junior year so I was prepared, went back to school the 3rd week of December and graduated on time May 30, 2003!! None of it was easy and I was alone during most of the process. Of course my family was in the house and my mom watched Eddie for me in the beginning but sometimes I had to take him to school with me. I studied hard, I did my assignments, I cried- A LOT- but at the end of the day I walked across that stage with my 7 month old son watching!! I say all this to say, when times are difficult and life keeps its foot up your butt remember that you have everything you need within you to conquer it! If a 17/18 year old girl can navigate that tremendous hurdle so can you!! I love you all and pray for your strength, peace, and endurance on this journey called LIFE!!
