Block prints of the desert will begin posting with this latest image of an isolated palm oasis. Each print is original, hand colored and available to crafters and publishers seeking unique landscape images that use NO electricity to print, a pure celebration of reproduction by hand without computers at all. Returning to early 20th century style of the Arts & Crafts era in which so much great art was created out here in the west. PM us if you'd like copies or rights in the future.

Muhlenbergia capillaris 'Pink Mist' Pink Deer Grass Calif native.

Pink Muly is a real stand out in fall bloom and is a fine native deergrass with unexpected color for the ideal alternative to invasive purple fountain grass. Long lived perennial for high desert gardens cold hardy to -10 in winter and takes low desert summer heat as shown in this photo.

Who we are

All the plants from I-10 to 29 Palms on California Highway 62

Using our unique vision of Morongo Valley residents, Desert Sun columnist and author of Palm Springs-Style Gardening, Maureen Gilmer, and photo editor, Lisa Thackaberry, created HWY62flora. With powerful literary and photographic archives, we hope to create a virtual experience sequenced by what comes into bloom here. We go beyond mere photos for an holistic view, not just a scientific one. Discover our vision with history, art, botany, horticulture, ecology and pop culture to make sure you get it all. We’ll keep going this way until the quarantine lifts or we run out of plants!
