Thanks so much to everyone who liked this page and are already spreading the word about what we’re doing. It really means so much. Just thought I’d let everyone know where we are in the process and where we go from here:
-I’m currently waiting for the mastering to be finished. Mastering for compilations is mostly volume matching, so you don’t have some songs sounding super loud and some super quiet. Almost all of the songs on this comp were already fully mastered previously, so it’s all about getting the same volume across the board so it’s not an ear sore. I was told this process would take around a week and we’re already a couple days into it.
-The artwork for the CD is already approved. As soon as I get the mastered songs back, I’ll send them to the CD-makers and they’ll put them on the discs. They typically ship the CDs out less than a week from when they get everything. So, it looks to me like we’re, at most, a couple weeks from the CDs being finished, between mastering and printing.
- Soon I’ll determine the actual release date, which will probably be in January. I’ll have a link on Bandcamp where the album can be purchased. There’s a good chance I’ll have it up for preorder a couple weeks before the actual release date. Around that time, I’ll begin to post about the artists that are on the compilation and I’ll send the artists an email to let them know that this thing is about to be available, in hopes that they will spread the word to their followers, as well.
-PLEASE show the artists some love. I just threw this thing together, their music is what makes it worthwhile. After I have the album out for preorder, I’ll probably do a post about each artist, and they are all incredible bands. If you enjoy their music, please follow them on social media and check out the rest of their tunes.
-For anyone reading, I’m excited that you’re with me on this. Let’s spread the word, especially when I have a link to where the album can be purchased. Let’s make as many new fans for these bands as we can. Let’s raise as much money for The Nest as we can. I’m so excited that we can do both of these things at once!
