Incumbent Rachel Mitchell is on the ballot. Her office and Allister Adel’s office failed Leanne and and other DV victims by never holding abusers accountable and bringing charges to arrests.

CONTACT THESE OFFICIALS AND ASK WHAT THEY PLAN TO DO TO ADDRESS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

Incumbent Rachel Mitchell is running against Gina Godbehere in the GOP primary for Maricopa County attorney. Tamika Wooten is the Democrat running.

And despite what he claims, the suspect in Leanne’s death - her estranged husband who faced previous DV charges against her, was NOT cleared of suspicion. The DA felt they needed more evidence to bring charges to meet the reasonable doubt standard.

If you're in an unsafe domestic situation and have a hidden secondary phone:

Wednesday, October 4th, FEMA is conducting a national test for emergency alerts. Your phone will get the alert anywhere from 2:20 pm (Eastern time) to 2:50 pm. The signal will start being broadcasted at 2:20 and will last for 30 minutes but your phone will only alert once. Do not turn your phone back on until you are safe to do so as the phone could alert when reactivated.

The sudden noise of this alert could disclose the location of your hidden device, so it's best to power it completely down during that time.

‼️‼️‼️ TOMORROW October 4th, a national alert text will be sent out to test the alert system around 2:20 pm EST. If you have a hidden phone, like many in a DV situation might, make sure your phone is completely turned off. From my understanding, even if it’s the next day when you turn it on, it will still go off, so make sure you are in a safe situation when you turn it back on. I sincerely hope this heads up reaches anyone who needs to see it.

3 months before Leanne’s death her husband, Jason Beck, was arrested for Domestic Violence. This a violation of his plea deal from a previous DV incident in November 2020. This prompted Leanne to obtain an order of protection, which was active at the time of her death. Months after Leanne died these charges were dropped by MCOA because of a “lack of victim/witness”.

Leanne’s death was 100% preventable had the authorities used their authority to act.
