Remembering Energy 92.7/5 Chicago - 15 Years After "The Launch" I AM ENERGY!!!

It was a little over ten years ago - January 26th, 2001, to be precise - that one trimulcast hit the airwaves and changed the face of radio in Chicago & many of lives along with it... ENERGY 92.7/5 - CHICAGO & NORTHERN ILLINOIS' DANCE AUTHORITY!!!

92.5 To The West - WDEK (DeKalb, IL)
92.7 To The North - WKIE (Arlington Heights, IL)
92.7 To The South - WKIF (Kankakee, IL)

Energy brought joy to

many people's lives all the way until it's "Last Dance" - January 5th, 2003. Now... I could probably bore you with a bunch of facts & crap you can research yourself on Wikipedia... But I won't... For now... Hopefully, we will be able to get the ACTUAL faces of this fine, well-missed radio station to give their "Point Of View" (DB Boulevard reference...) on the days when Energy was on the air...

Along with people posting their opinions, thoughts & memories, I will also be posting the music that made it what it was... Not the music of your life... But the PULSE of your life! Along with the music, I hope to post other fun stuff that was Energy...

For those of you looking for dance music in Chicago today, it can still be found at the same spot on the dial, along with 99.9, 7 nights a week... DANCE FACTORY RADIO is on the air Sunday - Friday 9p to 5a & Saturdays from 8p to 5a... Though it's not the same as Energy, at least it's dance music on the radio in Chicago... :-)
