Part of the Juniper Knoll vision heavily involves collaborative marketing, so I don't do all the work and neither does the author.

Juniper Knoll Publishing authors will be a community of mutually supportive powerful beings pushing each others' positive, valuable products as well as their own. And that is what dreams are made of.


Every person reading this post has a book inside which is scrabbling to get out, or a book already in print. You can be a Juniper Knoll author if that book will benefit a broad swath of people.


Each author will be a separate deal, until I have done enough to find out what works best; the income split will correspond to how much work each does in promoting the book. The concept is that each book will have its own marketing plan with stuff the author does and stuff JKP does. The split will also depend on how much work the author puts into the publishing steps, and how much JKP does. So it all very fluid right now. A year from now, I hope it will all be more standardized.

Right now, I expect I will find self-published books that meet JKP requirements, buy them wholesale like any other retailer, and resell them in the website, promoting them heavily and enthusiastically however I can because they are books worth reading. I will work with each author on a promotional plan to increase sales and adjust the split of profits.

Some already-published books will be almost there, but I will want to re-publish under JKP's imprint with light editing and full proofreading, which will also change the split since I would be incurring the initial cost.

I haven't disappeared. Busy organizing, building marketing platforms, in what time I can steal from my full-time job. Full retirement now looking like sometime in February instead of March, so I will be able to concentrate on this. In the meantime, send me your ideas for marketing, and send authors my way. I am ready to start looking at sample chapters.

Update 7/22: JKP is fleshing out. I realized how much I want to do with it, and decided it needs the time to do the website right. When it goes up, it will include the whole Juniper Knoll Family concept, where people can help me decide which books to publish and get rewarded for doing so; articles and blogs about, well, all sorts of things; minimum of five books to start; videos; first chapters on lots of books; and much more. If you have any ideas of what you would like to see included, let me know. The underlying concept is that when you come to the Juniper Knoll website, you feel like you are coming home.
