After 3 long years of Covid shutdowns, we are back! Our fundraising concert, which was cancelled in March 2020 due to the pandemic, has been rescheduled to

Sunday, September 24th, 2023, 2:00 pm
Walter Hall, Edward Johnson Building,
80 Queen's Park, Toronto

Despite the pandemic, we are determined to raise the funds needed so that our funds will be matched and the scholarship will become perpetual. At this late date every little bit counts! Lilian Toyich has been active with the U of T Faculty of Music in continuing both the scholarship and Boyanna's Community Outreach Master Class.
The Boyanna Toyich Leadership in Music Scholarship has supported the education of several deserving students so far. And of course it will also be fun to get together again and celebrate the life of, and our connection to, the wonderful Boyanna Toyich.🥰

Tickets are $40 and of course any additional donations will be gratefully accepted and tax receipted.

Thank you for your support! We look forward to seeing you!

Unfortunately, both our March and June fundraising concerts have been postponed indefinitely, but please enjoy this song which was on the March programme. Sung in Latvian by Klaritas Vocal Ensemble, “Kopā augām, mēs māsiņas” or “We Sisters Grew Up Together” by composer Rita Strautiņš, expresses the sadness when two dear sisters and their mother must part... Here are the words in English:
We sisters grew up together
We did not just live together.
The goddess of chance separated us
As we stood at our home gate.
We are parting, we sisters
At those crossroads;
May there grow, at that very spot
Golden-crossed apple trees.
O, my Mother, so dear, so pure,
You are so far away, as am I.
The winds blow, and the people talk
In the void between us all.
