I have written several civil asset forfeiture stories for Land Line. Here is the latest, about a federal bill to end the abuses. It made it out of committee in the House. Will it stop there?

A bill to reform forfeiture laws allowing money and other assets to be seized and kept by state or federal government has cleared a hurdle.

UPS is pretty certain they can train entry-level drivers without needing to have experienced drivers much involved. Will the company keep trying year after year? With their trainers, as will drivers at a company with high turnover, treat them right and keep them instead of continually lowering the bar to get more bodies through the door.

UPS is taking another crack at its exemption request from FMCSA’s entry-level driver training rule after being denied last year.

It was heartening to see the chorus of truck drivers and their supporters weigh in on an autonomous truck company wanting to be exempted from hours of service rules professional drivers need to follow.

An hours-of-service exemption request by an autonomous truck company Pronto.ai drew thoughtful comments from many, backing up OOIDA’s arguments against it.

I am sad for what the Drews are going through with being sticken with COVID-19 and being truckers. I am glad they shared their story, and I think Wendy Benton Parker did a great job telling us about the situation. https://landline.media/covid-19-positive-trucking-couple-finds-little-help/

A COVID-19 positive trucking couple confirms that few provisions are available for drivers to keep themselves safe from the virus while on the road.
