The Grassroots Staff is so honored that our Quill and Ink Literary Festival has been featured in Illinois Eagle, an LGBTQ+ newspaper based in Springfield, Illinois. Please, come out to our event on Saturday, April 29th for a fun full day of festivities!

The event will be held at the SIU Student Center in the Old Main Room. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.

While you're waiting on our Quill and Ink Literary Festival, please consider attending Little Grassy's Literary Festival! It is different than Quill and Ink in the way that it's being held virtually through Zoom. This means you can stay in your pajamas and attend from the comfort of your own bed! This event is a whole week long beginning on April 3rd. We hope to see you there!

Grassroots is accepting submissions for its 2023 edition! Deadline for all submissions is Jan. 22nd, 2023.

Well, that's a wrap! Our deadline for ALL submissions is tomorrow Feb. 6th. If you're waiting til the last second to submit, then this is that last second moment! Submit before it's too late!

We have more than doubled the amount of submissions we have received this year. We are truly grateful for everyone who submitted their creative work. Expect a 200 page magazine this Spring!
