If heading out dress warm its going to be a rather chilly late April night. These conditions are more characteristic to early March and Late February. Could see some snow showers late tonight as well as a compact area of low pressure moves into the Eastern Great Lakes. Nothing major, maby a coating to 1 inch across the hills.

Weather Update From The Early Warning Storm Center-
12:20 PM EDT Tue Apr 26, 2022

In the wake of a strong cold front that brought severe weather to the area yesterday we remain socked in abundant cloud cover. The cloud cover will remain in place the rest of the day although a peak of sun cannot be ruled out. Temperatures this afternoon will move very little this afternoon under cold air advection.
Meanwhile I am currently tracking our next weather maker, a compact area of low pressure currently moving into The Northern Great Lakes. This system ill track into the Eastern Great Lakes late tonight. Its associated cold front will generate new shower activity over the area by this evening. We will eventually see showers focusing east of Lake Erie that will be aided by some lake enhancement. This system will also bring us a renewed shot of colder air that will cause the rain showers to mix in with some wet snow, especially across our higher elevations and there is the possibility of some light accumulations of up to an inch in some spots.

The surface low will have yet one more cold frontal boundary to pass across our region Wednesday, shifting winds more to a northwesterly direction pushing a much colder air airmass through the region Wednesday.
To sum it up overall, this pattern will likely support lake enhanced rain and snow showers across the
areas southeast of the lake Wednesday morning. Across the higher
elevations, expect showers to mainly fall as snow, which could add a few extra tenths of snowfall early in the morning before our late april diurnal and sun angles have their way. Otherwise, the remainder of the area could see up to a dusting. We will not see 60 degree temperatures until probaly around Sunday.

From Bryon Rexford
Early Warning Storm Center

Concerning Severe Weather Potential-

Severe Weather Update -
Issued at 1:10 PM EDT
Mon Apr 25, 2022
.There remains the potential of a few strong to severe thunderstorms to develop across Western New York this afternoon into the early evening hours as a strong cold front begins to impinge on our destabilizing atmosphere.

Renewed thunderstorm development and intensification is expected to take place across east-central Kentucky, Tennessee Northeast up through Ohio, Into Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York. Already back in Shelby County Ohio around 11:56 AM a 64 MPH gust was reported at their local airport as a severe thunderstorm moved through.
Strongest deep-layer winds are currently lagging the cold front, however there will be an exception across areas that are in close proximity to the Lower Great Lakes. Here is where the strongest deep-layer winds/shear will be found. This has prompted the Storm Prediction Center to include us in 2% tornado probabilities.
Sufficient boundary layer warmth and destabilization along with moderately strong low and mid level winds will support the potential of some semi-organized clusters that will be capable of producing localized wind damage through the rest of the day up until around sunset.

keep it right here with the Early Warning Storm Center for any possible updates concerning the severe weather potential.
