Got a stern talkin to at work for you all today. Thanks for coming out last night.
Heatin up...
House shows that shaped the existence of The Hamilton (est 2010):
1. A Midnight Ramble in March 2009 at Levon Helm's Residence in Woodstock, NY. This was the most expensive house show I've ever been to, but they had so much food and their bathrooms had showers in them.
2. An East Nashville shindig November 2009 at the gracious Mehrens's House w/ Simon Kerr, Rae Hering, Evan P. Donohue, Her Fantastic Cats (Baltimore), and Westfolk. This was the 1st ever house show I put together (with help from my friends Leslie and Nathanael). There was a keg, a soundguy, and quite a few friends. That night Westfolk played what would eventually become Beat Bums material for the first time.
3. 1400 Caldwell-Halloween 2010 w/ New Pleasure, The Hollywood Ten, and Frank The F**k Out. I will never forget this show because I got fired from my job the next morning for not showing up. reason: too drunk/didn't care
4. Glenn Danzig's House circa 2010. can't remember the first time i went there, but i'm sure it was sometime in the fall. The one thing I learned from going to shows there, was that some bands are just too loud and that's it. there's nothing u can do about it but say "well, its a house show."
We're not finished.

Since there's no more Little Hamilton, I thought it'd be alright if we dropped the big and just started calling ourselves...THE HAMILTON.

Rumble rumble.....
Saturday, March 3rd 2012. Big Hamilton is back featuring a musical expedition with yours truly and Jesse Payne who some of you might have seen at the Siberian Traps EP release at the End back in March '11.
Lots of ideas flowing for upcoming shows. Artist shout-outs welcome.
Beautiful. I think we might start doin' this again sometime soon.
Len Lye is back....or at least he will be back. November 19th. Be ready.

Upon looking through old facebook messages I remembered that the Big Hamilton was, in fact, not a play off of the Little Hamilton's namesake, but a dirty joke. And it was actually abbreviated, because the full name was just too gross...even for the internet age.
So that's it folks. It was fun. Don't come back here. Support your local venues. They sound better anyways. Those guys get paid for a reason.
This will be the last hoorah for a bit. One week from today.

Big Hamilton success! Everyone played beautifully. The crowd was so quiet during the acoustic sets that you could've heard a pin drop. For those of you who didn't get a chance last night, check out these guys from St. Louis, HUMDRUM.

Big Hamilton will now be hosting 2 shows next month. Humdrum (St. Louis) on July the 10th, Memphis Pencils and Messy Sparkles (Fayetteville, Arkansas) on July the 19th. So go do what you did before facebook and look forward to these without the aid of my clever advertising schemes.
Action! just added to July 19th!
