QUEST MASTER EU TOUR STARTS JAN 30

The Australian fantasy dungeon synth project Quest Master is about to embark on a tour of Europe with 19 shows from Jan 30th to Feb 21st.

Many of these shows have added interesting projects from their respective countries to the bill, making it a nice opportunity to experience what the local dungeon synth scene might have to offer as well. Like Bologna with Arcana Liturgia, Barcelona with Frostgard, Paris with Dragon Keep etc etc.

Another example of this is February 1st in Copenhagen, where Spillestedet Stengade will host Quest Master along with Offermose and Taagebue. Offermose is a renowned Danish synth project that has started releasing on Forsaken Relics. Taagebue is a dark dungeon music project, also from Denmark, which is releasing on Gondolin, and recently started performing live. There will also be a table of tapes, LPs and more made available for purchase by the Danish dungeon synth labels Gondolin Records & Forsaken Relics.

The same two labels will also be present in London on Feb 15th-16th when the tour is making a stop for the Albion Dungeon Fest, which promises two days of dungeon synth mayhem and a stacked line up including Arcana Liturgia, Depressive Silence, Gothmog, Lord Bakartia, Malfet - to name just the projects with releases on Gondolin or Forsaken Relics.

The Quest Master tour is made possible by my colleague over at Out Of Season, who will also be vendoring at every show on the tour.

ICE AGES "STRIKE THE GROUND" 2xLP vinyl / Tape releases this Friday at 12PM Noon Eastern. For those not already initiated, Ice Ages is a project of Richard Lederer aka Protector of the almighty SUMMONING. In fact, a few of these tracks later became the basis of well known songs of which you will instantly recognize. However, unlike the medieval black metal of his other project, ICE AGES is firmly in the realm of EBM/Electro and would have fit perfectly among the roster of the Cold Meat Industry label back in the day. Previously released only on CD, this is a first time edition on both vinyl (300, 100 purple, 200 black with insert and UV spot gloss) and tape (150 purple).
Obviously the cover art here is a product of its time (1997) and is not objectively great looking, but I find that it brings me a warm nostalgia to an era of discovery and experimentation associated with the 1990s. Along with , ICE AGES was one of the very first projects I found in my dive into electronic/ dark ambient music in the early 00s, so it is truly an honour to reissue this obscure gem after so many years! Highest Recommendation!
