The recent rain-induced floods are called " Climate-inducted Humanitarian Crisis of Epic Proportions" by the government of Pakistan. Around 30 million people are displaced due to flash floods in different parts of the country. A report reveals that a fund worth RS 72 billion is required to help the flood victims as the biggest challenge of their rehabilitation is still ahead. The government will have to establish thousands of new houses for homeless. Presently, they need food items; they are looking for medical help; for blankets; for tents; and for clothes.
Every penny counts!

Thanks to all mothers, sisters and daughters for everything they did to make this Ramazan a blessing for us. They were preparing for Sahar while we were falling in a deep sleep. They washed the dishes, cleaned the houses and looked after the kids. They prepared the breakfast for the children and sent them to school at the time when we were sound asleep. They also cooked for Iftar. Sometimes they felt sick but they knew that there was no other to carry out all this stuff. All the while, they had to offer their prayers and didn't miss a single moment to please Allah. In a nutshell, they sacrificed their comfort for us whereas we were on beds, scrolling down Facebook for many many hours.
Thank you! Thank you iron ladies!

ABBOTTABAD: The controversy continued to stir up in Hazara over sighting of moon after the Deputy Commissioner of Abbottabad announced that Eid would be celebrated on Monday. In the meantime, a statement made by the District Khateeb circulated on social media, quoting him as saying" tomorrow is 30th Ramazan".
It all happened when a tensed period of moon-sighting continued for several hours, even after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee made the decision that Eid will be observed on Thuesday, 3rd May across the country, announcing that no testimony of moon-sighting was received from any part of the country. However, M***i Poplazai from Peshawar claimed to have received around 130 sightings of the moon on the basis of which, the KP government announced Eid on Monday, 2nd May-2022.
In a surprise move, the Deputy Commissioner of Abbottabad announced that Eid would be celebrated according to decision made by the provincial government which was rejected by the Ulema committee of Abbottabad, who later on, made it clear that no Eid is going to be celebrated in Abbottabad on May 2 [today]. Within no time, the Deputy Commissioner had to reannounce that Eid would be celebrated according to the decision of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. Meanwhile, the Acting Governor KPK Mushtaq Ghani, who belongs to Abbottabad, said people of Hazara would follow the of Central Committee as they had been doing in the past.
During this period, thousands of Facebook posts were seen, discussing the moon-sighting as people were unsure whether Eid would be celebrated the next day or not. Hence, Hazara Division will observe Eid-ul-Fitr following the announcement of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

ABBOTTABAD: The Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Friday revealed that on 12th April-2010, they were leading a peaceful protest at Fawara Chowk when suddenly, armored vehicles started shelling the people which led to the violence in the city. He called it a conspiracy against the people of Hazara, saying Sardar Mehtab was chairing the meeting at that time, " It isn't possible that the violent operation might have carried out without the permission of the then PML-N's Member of the National Assembly," Ghani added.
He was addressing the cheque distribution ceremony held for the heirs of the martyrs of 12th April-2010 at the Press Club. The ceremony was also attended by former MNA Ali Khan Jadoon and others.
In his address, Mushtaq Ghani pointed out that he didn't know the conspiracy was at such a high level because firing from the ambulances was witnessed on the spot.
" Soon after the shelling, we were told that a police station was set to fire. Consequently, violence continued for the whole day; there was bloodshed and innocent protesters were martyred by the police," he said.
Mr. Ghani further stated that the movement for Hazara province was initiated the day after it all happened which gained momentum throughout the country. " We will continue this movement in the future as well," he vowed.
The speaker told that he, along with Ali Khan Jadoon, was keenly struggling for the construction of interchange in Abbottabad, adding the Chief Minister would be requested to announce the project in the public gethering of 8th May, scheduled to be held at the College Ground.

It is 2013; Imran Khan's change slogan is gaining momentum. There's a sea of people in the College Ground of Abbottabad, with mostly young blood accepting the new trend. And here comes Imran Khan with a roar of helicopter. He delivers an ardent speech to the passionate crowd and becomes voice of the then NA-17, where people were already looking for a second option.
As a result, Dr. Azhar, who previously had approached for the PML-N ticket on various occasions, wins the seat for PTI by ousting the dominating political icon Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan - the one who ruled this constituency for three decades.
Today, it's 2022 and Imran Khan comes again, almost with the same agenda, however backed by a strong push of Anti-Americanism which is considered his new narrative. This time, the public gathering will be hosted by no other than Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and other Party MAs. Interestingly, in 2013, Imran Khan asked people not to vote for the Independent candidates, saying they often sold their loyalties to political parties to become part of the governments. This was the time when Mushtaq Ghani was contesting election from the then PK-44 as an independent candidate, who presently, is the Speaker of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.
Much has changed and much has to be changed. Everybody is looking at Imran Khan, thinking what kind of other changes he wants to bring about in the system to let the " CHANGE" happen.
The preparations are underway for the 8th May's show in Abbottabad as the local leadership has started mobilizing the workers throughout the Division.

ABBOTTABAD: The pollen count has risen in Abbottabad due to hot weather causing problems for allergy sensitive patients in the wooded areas. The Met Office has not predicted any signs of rain till the next Wednesday which may worsen the situation in different parts of the city.
While talking to The Galies, Dr. Zai Ur Rashid, a senior physician from Abbottabad said not all of the species of pollen are harmful to humans except those having
some level of allergenicity. He said flowers, herbs and different other plants may pollinate in the Spring season, especially in the midst of April and in the beginning of May. While asked about whether abeles could cause pollen allergy or not, Dr. Rashid revealed that abeles does not pollinate in the spring adding that it is the misperception about the tree. He said that in fact, it was the dispersal of seeds which was being considered pollen by some of the citizens. " They can be harmful to patients with respiratory issues but it is not the pollen allergy," he said. However, he advised the masses to be careful if the dispersal of seeds by abeles is at a high rate, warning that it could get stuck in the nose and throat.
Meanwhile, the people have demanded of the Health Department to take necessary measures for a decrease in the pollen count in Abbottabad.
