It appears that government officials are finally stepping up and cracking down on DVD piracy. This is one place where Indie movie titles are made public illegally. Independent filmmakers are hurt the most by this practice. I'm sure others will follow in quick succession.

The Super will be screening this week at the School of Visual Arts in NYC to an audience of junior and senior filmmakers. A discussion will follow on producing films, with guest speaker Alex Lugones. Hollywood filmmaker, Brett Ratner (X-Men and Rush Hour films) started the discussion, a month ago, about producing big budget Hollywood films. Alex will give the flip-side of producing with dignity in the unglamorous world of low-budget filmmaking.

The Super wins 3 awards at the Buffalo Screams Horror FIlm Festival. Best Grindhouse Feature, Best Actor (Demetri Kallas as George Rossi "The Super") and Best Editing (Alex Lugones). This was the first festival to screen "The Red Scare" Edition of THE SUPER. The extra 2 minutes in this edition is directed by Andrey Iskanov and was applauded by horror fans attending the screening.
