How do you get volume out of a wig?
Here’s how:
✨ Use your fingers in smaller circular motions at the roots of your wig.
✨ You’ve heard me say this before, but really get in there! Wake the fibers up!
✨ Hold the lace down with fingers and comb the fibers back off your face to direct them up and back and then release. Use low heat if need be.
✨ Before you put your wig on shake it upside down from the velvet nape to release the roots.
✨Don’t be afraid to use product. Wig hairspray or wig wax for hold. Style it like you would your own hair!
✨ And finally, have fun with it! This is your dream Hair own it!

Top knot on a wig? Sure! Why knot?! 😋 I typically don’t wear my wigs up. This wig is not a standard “pony wig” but I managed to get a top knot style out of this one because it had some particular much needed features. (Keep reading) ⬇️
I spent my whole “thin haired girl” life wearing my hair in a ponytail or a messy top knot to give the illusion of more hair. Discovering Wigs helped me to discover wearing my hair down and feeling confident and beautiful.
BUT.. what about those days when I want to just throw my hair up?
I found thee perfect wig to do this with and here’s why:
✨ Low density is KEY.
✨ Feather light denure.
✨ Wavy texture helps to grip the fibers
✨ Lace hairline that extends to at least the temples
✨ Straight fibers are more difficult to look natural so keep that in mind
✨ The nape is important.. make sure you loosen it up.
✨ Pull some bio hair out at ears and temples to soften the hairline edges
✨ Have fun! And use a mirror to see the style from ALL angles!!

You may not recognize this as the Jon Renau human hair WIG I featured a few weeks ago that did NOT suit me. The color wasn’t good.
It was unrooted and very GOLD! 😬
Whelp, I had it professionally colored! The cut ✂️ was already gorgeous but the color was a NO GO for me! 🫠 What did I do?
I sent my wig to “the shop” to get colored down and this was the result! Absolutely gorgeous!
I am a trained colorist and I STILL left this to the PROFESSIONAL WIG COLORIST.
Disclaimer: Do not try this at home!!!! (And please note that factory dyed color CANNOT be lightened)

Eyeshadow NEEDS something to stick to.. you need to apply primer (+ balm for moisture if primer is thick) before your eyeshadow for longer lasting wear and more even distribution.
