Chris' Tippecanoe County trip by the numbers:
590 photos taken
36 apparatus
12 stations
10.5 hours of driving and photo shoots
6 departments
1 very generous donation from West Point VFD!

Like everything in the fire service, we don't do the job for the money. However, we are very appreciative of the donations we have received over the years, including this second one from West Point. It's a privilege to work with so many dedicated first responders who are proud of their departments and apparatus. Thank you to everyone who was willing to move rigs around for the best lighting and background (even at some crazy angles - LFD E8). Our fans are awesome and we appreciate you letting us into your second homes! I will be posting all the pics throughout the week - Chris

It’a been a beautiful day in Tippecanoe County with lots of help from the crews and our Facebook friends! Lots of photos to be posted this week including a few of these. Not quite done yet!

This may be last minute, but the weather FINALLY looks like its clearing enough to get out and get some early season pictures in Tippecanoe County tomorrow. Wondering if there are some contacts that could help me arrange some photoshoots? The City of Lafayette has reached out, but I also know there's several other things that we need:
Lafayette: Engines 3, 8 and 9
Buck Creek: Rescue 906 - 2017 Spartan/Alexis Heavy Rescue
West Point: Ambulance 505 - 2017 Ford Ambulance
Shadeland: Brush 303 - 2018 Ford F-550/Alexis and new station
Wabash Twp: Rescue 605 - 2019 Ford F-550/Danko mini pumper
Wea Twp: Brush 401 refurb, E406 - 2023, TK 405 - 2023, R407
Tippecanoe EAS: Need all/any current Medic Units

Thanks in advance for any connections - Chris

Do we have anyone who is on or connected to Camp Atterbury FD following this page? We just noticed that they have numerous new rigs that we need photos of.

Thanks, Frank

The weather forecast was not exactly accurate on Saturday, but Chris and Frank still managed to get to several departments in Delaware County. On Sunday Frank and Jason worked their way through Whitley, Adams and Wells Counties. More updates coming from that trip in the coming weeks!

03/02/2024

Now on Sunday Jason and Frnak will be doing some shooting in Whitley, Adams and Wells counties.

Our main goals are Columbia City, Columbia Twp, Ossian Fire Dept, Markle, Uniondale, Decatur, Geneva and Berne.

The plan right now is to start in Columbia City in the morning and work our way down to Berne, as long as people are available.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

02/02/2024

This is a bit of short notice, but Chris and Frank are looking to do some updates in and around Delaware county tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon.
Besides Muncie's new engines and ambulance we'd like to update Gaston, Eaton Volunteer Fire Department and Cowan, if there are people available obviously.

In addition, if time and sunlight permits, we'd also like to get pics of the newest rigs at Montpelier.
Any help is always appreciated.

-Frank

A volunteer group known for helping Indianapolis firefighters in the line of duty no longer has enough volunteers to operate.

It’s been a busy day in south central Indiana where we visited 8 departments and 10 stations. We are running out of light and this is just a sampling of the rigs we shot (sorry - forgot to take phone shots of a couple). Full updates slowly rolling out this week and next. Thanks to the amazing crews and those who helped us get connected. Beautiful day for photos!

Final count revised - 10 departments and 15 stations. We literally ran out of useable sunlight by the end of this late fall day!

11/11/2023

Frank and I are looking to do a county-wide photo shoot for as many departments as possible in Bartholomew County on Sunday.

We intend to start in Edinburgh Fire and Rescue first (I know it's Johnson County) and then hit several Barto county departments. If you have rigs that need to be updated and contact information for someone we could coordinate with so have someone available to pull out some rigs at the stations, please message us. We are looking forward to a great weekend of weather and some long overdue photo opportunities! ~ Chris

Today, the Madison Township Fire Chief and Madison Township Trustee publicly announced the temporary closing of Madison Township Fire Department (MTFD) Station 831. The station, located at 10023 N Kitchen Rd, Mooresville, was built in 1992. Over the years, as Madison Township has grown, the demands for staffing and fire apparatus have taxed the facility. Safety concerns about degradation of concrete and the lack of adequate living quarters for staff were cited as the two main reasons for the decision to temporarily shut down the station.

All staff and in-service apparatus have been relocated to the MTFD’s other station – station 832 located at 7047 E Landersdale Rd, Camby. “The safety of our firefighters is our top priority,” said Fire Chief Anthony McClure. “In order to serve Madison Township to the best of our ability, we need to do everything we can to ensure the safety of our team.”

Chief McClure is now working with the team and MTFD’s mutual aid partners to create and execute emergency response plans that provide for equal response to all residents of Madison Township, regardless of location. In addition, they are evaluating what actions need to be taken to upgrade Station 831. Read the entire press release here:https://mtfd.us/awesome/2023/10/MTFD_PressRelease_10-27-23.pdf
