Gumroad account hacked!

I have no longer access to my Gumroad account. The Gumroad support informed me a few days ago that the account has been hacked by a guy named Alessandro.

The support avoided my questions and after the conversation I lost all my trust in Gumroad security. Unfortunatly, all money from your purchases and donations are now lost.

This is a question to the ones who makes After Effects tutorials. A year ago I did a video tutorial and now two channels has made the same tutorial with some very minor changes.

Now to my question:
Is this a common practice to copy others tutorials on Youtube? Wouldn't it be better to improve on the tutorial that is copied? Or make something completely different? What's your thoughts about it?
