27th ✨
27 things I’ve learned in 27 years of life:
1. Until you learn to be okay being alone, you will never be okay being with someone else. Being alone isn’t lonely!
2. Self-care is not selfish. Self-care is essential to your well-being.
3. Your siblings turn out to be the best people out there. We were always fighting when we were kids. But, all of a sudden they turn into my favorite people in the world. They always have my back.
4. Family is everything. Period.
5. It’s okay to be seen starting at the bottom. No one starts at the top.
6. It is no one else’s responsibility to do your self-growth and healing for you. It’s up to you to put in the work.
7. It’s okay for friendships to ebb and flow and not remain the same as they always have. It’s okay for old friends to fade away. You will always appreciate that person for who they were to you; but sometimes you just have to let go.
8. Holding grudges doesn’t make you strong. It makes you bitter. Learn to forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace. Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay. And, it doesn’t mean that person should be in your life. It just means you have made peace with the pain, and you’re ready to let it go.
9. Life will continue to give you the same lesson over and over until you have finally mastered it.
10. God always answers your prayers with, “Yes,” “Yes, but not now,” or “No, because I have something even better for you in store.”
11. Some people may not like me and it’s okay. It’s not my job to please everyone. What they think of me is merely their opinion.
12. Grey’s Anatomy will literally make you a cry baby lol
13. Supernatural thought me that family is everything.
14. The quality of your friendships is more important than the quantity of your friendships.
15. You can have fun and be fun without alcohol.
16. Posting a “pa-yummy” photo doesn’t mean you’re asking for it or you’re seeking validation. You don’t need anyone to approve your worth.
17. When you give back to this world, the universe will bless you by giving back to you.
18. It’s okay to simply say “no” to people. You don’t need to come up with made up excuses. Hehe.
19. Face your demons. Work through your own problems, and stop carrying them into your next fight.
20. Have fun. Do things that bring you joy. It’s good for your soul. And if it involves other people, it’s even better. Add joy to the world.
21. Communication is a key but you should also learn how to listen. To be able to tell other what’s on your mind without fighting and arguing.
22. Appreciate what you have while you still have it.
23. Don’t compare yourself to other people. You’ll only hurt yourself.
24. It is okay to be sad. Just never let it consume you.
25. It’s 100% okay to leave a situation if it’s not right. Don’t stay just to keep from rocking the boat. If something isn’t right, change it. Leave. Just leave with dignity.
26. You will figure it out. You’ll find a way to get through the things that stressing you out.
27. Be kind. Even to those who are unkind to you. 🙂
Thank you, Lord for keeping me alive! 🙏🏻
Cheers to surviving my 27 years in life 🍻
