Tonight while I was reading section 29 I was struck by a theme at the beginning of the section. We are taught blessings that come to those that hear the Lord. One being those who hear Him are gathered. We also learn that those who hear Him are considered His "elect". Contrasting this we get a glimpse of what happens to those who do NOT hear Him. Verse 17 says, "for behold, my blood shall not cleanse them if they hear me not." Which is then followed by a lot of scary things 😬.
I then got to thinking of something that President Nelson has taught us and that is to "Hear Him", Him being the Lord. President Nelson knows the blessings that can come to those who hear Him.
Ah! It is soooo important that we hear the Lord!

I read this quote this morning by Joseph Smith and was reminded how much I love it! It is soooo true!! The more time we spend in the scriptures the more we love them. ❤️

posted this insight from today's class in their stories today and I loved it! Section 29 is kind of intense 😳 It can be easy to get a bit freaked out after reading about some of the signs of the Second Coming! BUT I think this question is so good to think about while reading about all of those things. To me, it's a sign of the Lord's love for us that He is telling us these things so we can prepare ourselves for His coming. He wants to protect us from the evil of this world as much as He can and to get our lives in order to be ready for Him. What are your thoughts about this?

I love love love this phrase. I am so grateful that Christ shines His light into the dark parts/times of our lives. He has shined His light into the dark moments in my life and I will forever be grateful for that

Happy Tuesday all! I just made an IGTV explaining this all a bit all so you can get the full details there, but in reading this verse this week in my Come Follow Me readings it hit me I need to make some adjustments. I've been running faster and trying to labor more than I have strength and means to do so. So I'm going to be putting podcast episodes on pause for a bit and focus instead on our virtual study groups once a month! The name of this space is Come Follow Me for You AND Me and I want to hear more from YOU! I will continue to share thoughts and insights throughout the month then we will have our study group at the end of the month and I can't wait! Look out for full details about that the closet we get, but mark your calendars for February 28th for our next virtual study group!

Wow, this verse really struck me this morning while I was reading. Prayer is POWERFUL!! Look at the amazing things we are taught about prayer in this verse:
🙏Prayer allows us to conquer Satan. Conquer is a powerful word! It means "overcome and take control of" or "successfully overcome". No wonder why Satan doesn't want us to pray and often will whisper in our minds that prayer doesn't work, or we are too tired to pray, or a million other lies he tells us about prayer. He doesn't want to be conquered.
🙏 Prayer not only allows us to conquer Satan but it also allows us to "escape the hands of the servants of Satan that do uphold his work" Escape means to "break free from confinement or control" or "fail to be noticed or remembered by"

Who doesn't want these blessings?! They are powerful!!

"We may or may not have chariots of fire sent to dispel our fears and conquer our demons, but the lesson is clear. The Lord is with us, mindful of us and blessing us in ways only He can do. Prayer can call down the strength and the revelation that we need to center our thoughts on Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice. The Lord knew that at times we would feel fear. I have been there and so have you, which is why the scriptures are replete with the Lord’s counsel:
“Be of good cheer, and do not fear.”

“Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.”

Okay I'm so excited!! This Sunday, January 31 we will be having our first Come Follow Me study group over Zoom! The purpose of this is to be able to create connections with each other while we talk about things we have learned over the last month as we have studied Come Follow Me! It will be happening at 4 pm CST and I can create a recording of it too for those who may want to hear what we talk about but can't tune in at that time. If you would like to attend please let me know and I'll send you the Zoom link! I hope to see you there!!

Verse 22 really struck me this morning as I have been reading. An experience of praying for peace about something came to my mind as I came across this verse. I was reminded that the Lord has blessed me with the answer I had/have been looking for. I'm grateful for this reminder ♥️

Is there an experience you need to "cast your mind upon" to remember what the Lord has already told you? I would invite you to take some time today and think about that. ♥️

I was reading in the Book of Mormon tonight and seeing how Laman and Lemuel treated Nephi when he was commanded to build the ship made me feel so sad. Let's be kind to one another ❤

Verse 7 in section 6 stood out to me so much this morning while I was studying. What a powerful and simple reminder! I LOVE the last line "Behold, he that hath eternal life is rich."

"One way to read this section (D&C 4) is to imagine it as a job description for someone who wants to do the Lord's work. What are the qualifications? Why are these skills or characteristics necessary?"

It's been 5 years 🤦 but I finally published a new episode! I was struck with some inspiration and insight tonight while studying and I just felt like I had to share it with you! I announced this on my personal page, , but I wanted to invite anyone here that would be interested in joining in!
I love Come Follow Me! I love the curriculum and I'm so excited to dive into the Doctrine and Covenants this year! But I've had this reoccurring thought that we can't forget about the Book of Mormon now that we will be focusing more time and attention on the Doctrine and Covenants. So I've decided to do a super easy and simple challenge I've name "Book of Mormon Live". I will go live every day on my personal account and read just a short section of verses with you all! I've included January's reading schedule if you swipe over for your reference!
I feel like it will get boring to just see me read every day so if you are interested in reading live with me please let me know! I would love that!!
I have a testimony of how important it is to continuously be studying the Book of Mormon to keep our testimonies strong.
I hope you will join me in reading the entire Book of Mormon again in 2021!

Starting our study of the Doctrine and Covenants with a new logo and a new episode!! 😁
I am so excited to be starting our study of the Doctrine and Covenants this year! I've been studying section 1 for just a few days and my testimony of that amazing book has already grown so much ❤️. I truly believe it was inspired for us to be studying the Doctrine and Covenants this year. I can't wait to dive into it together with you all!

Moroni 6:4 was meaning so much to me I had to make a podcast episode about it 😁 I'm so so grateful for the scriptures! I'm so grateful they were written to help "nourish" us and to help "keep us in the right way." The invitation/challenge I issued in this episode is to think about what scriptures have helped to nourish your soul and share them on your social media channels! I'm going to reflect on this and do the same!

In Ether 12:4 we read: "4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." I love the things this verse shares of what a belief in God can do for us. In today's episode I share some thoughts and feeling around this scripture. What does your belief in God do for you?

I was reading Ether 12: 27 tonight and this thought came to my mind over and over again. We are taught in Ether 12 that the Lord gives us our weaknesses to be humble and come unto Him. I think it struck me differently tonight what an amazing thing it is that the Lord can also give us strengths! I was so inspired by that thought tonight! What is a weakness you wish was a strength instead? Pray and ask Him for help!

Ether 12:4 stood out to me tonight as I started reading the chapters for this week's Come Follow Me readings. To me this verse is sharing some blessings that come from believing in God. How has your belief in God blesses your life?

In Ether 6:3 we read "And thus the Lord caused stones to shine in darkness, to give light unto men, women, and children, that they might not cross the great waters in darkness." When I first read this verse the phrase "The Lord makes the impossible possible" instantly came to my mind. The Lord uses something as simple as stones to provide light to the brother of Jared and his friends and family as they journey to their promise land. That is something that seems impossible, but with God it's possible.

We learn in Ether 2 how important prayer is the Lord. Important enough He would chastise the Brother of Jared for 3 hours for not doing it! The Brother of Jared and his people had only progressed so far in their journey up to this point but the Lord had so much more in-store for them! The way they would learn what that was was through prayer. The Lord also has so much in store for you and me and wants to tell us all this through prayer! Can you imagine what He is waiting to tell you?

Today begins the new format of the Come Follow Me for You And Me Podcast! I've decided to reformat how the podcast will be published from now on! Instead of one full length episode that has run about 60 minutes each week I will be publishing shorter bite size episodes several times a week! They will run from about 5-10 minutes and I'll always end each episode with an invitation or challenge for you to follow. Today's episode is titled "Pray for Others. I was struck how important it is to pray for others while reading Ether 1:33-37. The brother of Jared prayers for their friends that their language will not be confounded and miracles happen! Imagine what would have happened if he hadn't prayed for them? Two things to think about and do after listening to this episode:

1- Can you think of times when others have been an answer to your prayers?

2- Who in your life are you inspired to pray for today? Whoever comes to your mind pray for them now!

I'm preparing for this week's podcast episode and this scripture really stood out to me this morning in my reading especially this part "but did struggle for their lives without calling upon that Being who created them." I feel like this could easily be applied to each of us, I know especially for me. Do I struggle in life and not call upon the Being who created me? Do you? The Nephites at this point of the Book of Mormon are struggling so much and completely forgetting the Lord. What a powerful reminder this morning to NOT be like that! We each need the Lord and He wants to help us!
