Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Brandon developed a love for television news at an early age from his late Grandfather, Thomas McKie, who was a successful entrepreneur and family historian with a camera of his own. ted to excellence at the prestigious Black Ivy League institution of Hampton University in Virginia. Upon graduation he returned to South Carolina where he climbed the ranks in the field of television and radio broadcasting. One of his greatest career achievements was a promotion to Executive Producer during his nearly decade-long tenure at WIS News 10 (NBC) in Columbia. Brandon sat at the helm of major breaking news coverage including the Charleston Church Shooting, the removal of the Confederate Flag from the South Carolina State House grounds, and the Historic Flood of 2015. It was under Brandon’s leadership that his team won three Emmys for outstanding morning and breaking news coverage over a two-year span in 2016 and 2017. With an ever-growing passion for discussing social and minority issues, Brandon created his own online show "On Record with Brandon ‘Chris’ Wilson." He’s used his online platform to discuss mental health awareness in effort to motivate others to tap into their highest levels of self-awareness, self-preservation and overall happiness. It is Brandon’s faith in God and spirituality that propelled him to be a force for truth and a voice of encouragement to everyone in finding their greatest potential through their own testimony.
