Soul Care Session: Validating Self
The journey to self-validation is not an easy one especially when you don’t receive necessary validation from those closest to you in childhood.
Psychologists say validation is a fundamental aspect of human psychology and interpersonal relationships. It’s the recognition, acceptance, and affirmation of a person’s thoughts, feelings, experiences and identity.
So many of our youth and even adults are still longing for the validation they never received growing up. So how do you self-validate?
On Record Media hosts this discussion at All Good Books in Five Points with:

Uprooting from Trauma: Setting a new Foundation for Happiness
WE ALL HAVE TRAUMAS. Some of us are managing it better than others. Some of us are battling trauma so deep, that just putting on a smile day-to-day is a struggle.
Recently, Scheri Eichelberger Francois bravely shared her testimony on Facebook of the past traumas she's been coping with for much of her life. She's had to be strong for her family, loved ones and her children. She's had to muster up even more strength just to be strong for HERSELF, and to find new reasons just to be happy.
Scheri joins "On Record with Brandon 'Chris' Wilson" to share her testimony in hopes of helping others set a NEW foundation for true happiness. Mandy Halloran and MonDarryl LaTrez, who are both mental health advocates will also be joining to share their struggles and triumphs.
TRAUMA is something we ALL have to address at one point or another in our lives, BUT IT CAN BE MANAGED! Join the discussion and share your thoughts! TOGETHER we can set a NEW foundation for HAPPINESS!
Social Media Celebrities
WE ALL KNOW one or more folks online who are ALWAYS posting photos or statuses simply looking for those LIKES. Dare we call it THIRSTY?
REMEMBER this post from LeBron James' Instagram page a few weeks ago? King James called out the self-proclaimed or 'wannabe' social media celebrities asking "...what have y'all done that's worth celebratin?" and went on to say that everyone has the "same personality and identities."
WHAT DO YOU THINK? Brand strategist, Derek D. Ross, Behavioral Specialist, MonDarryl LaTrez, and Senior Celebrity Publicist Leslie Topps share their expertise on the difference between those seeking celebrity status on the world wide web, and those contributing to social media in a positive and productive way.
Relationships: Dating in the NEW Age
Dating, whether with the intent of making casual friends, or relationship partners can be fun. Other times is can be downright frustrating!
We live in a NEW age where dating apps, and social media rule the world of dating. Endless possibilities are at our fingertips, and that creates a challenge for those who are more TRADITIONAL when it comes to getting to know someone.
Should I date multiple people?
How do I establish the method and timing of communication (talking vs. texting)?
How do I establish balance when setting my standards/boundaries?
How do I establish MEANINGFUL connections with those I date?
Professionals, Kimberly Johnson, Mandy Halloran and John Ebron will join a candid and thought-provoking discussion on "Dating in the NEW Age" on Wednesday, September 1st at 8pm to lead off our series on Relationships this month.
A Cheating Husband's Heart: The Derrick Jaxn Scandal
Self-proclaimed relationship expert, Derrick Jaxn, who built his entire empire and brand on appealing to women by putting the spotlight on deadbeat and cheating men, is now engulfed in his own scandal after admitting he too has a cheating heart, and has carried on numerous affairs with women during the four years of being married to his wife, Da'Naia Jackson, and prior when they were only in a relationship.
His response to the scandal, his self-serving admissions, video confessions putting his wife and even GOD at the center of his debauchery have gone viral and led many to calling Jaxn out as nothing more than a fraud, a philanderer and a Narcissist.
When if ever should your marital issues be public versus private?
Is wife Da'Naia Jackson doing the right thing by "standing by her man," should she be judged? There are also signs she is the victim of abuse and manipulation, and the gall of Jaxn to use his marital transgressions to further pimp his brand.
Narcissistic abuse survivor Kimberly Montford, Counselors Jessica Vann and Cory George-Davis, and Brand Strategist and Publicist, Derek D. Ross join ON RECORD Host, Brandon 'Chris' Wilson discussing the way this has played out publicly and why those who did not know Jaxn or his wife are weighing in on the viral discussion.
Breaking Unhealthy Relationship Habits
Valentine's Day 2021 is officially in the books, and while it is a day we celebrate the love of our lives, LOVE should be celebrated ALL year long. In fact, some relationships and marriages likely could use a TUNE UP right about now.
Author, Love & Success Coach Byron Jamal and Licensed Professional Counselor Kimberly Johnson are discussing ways to break unhealthy relationship habits and how to develop the intimacy you truly deserve.
Finding the path to Healing: Recovering from Narcissistic Abuse
HEALING is an intensive journey, with a destination that's not easily arrived, especially for anyone who is a victim of abuse.
I've connected with so many survivors who say not only is it difficult getting out of the relationship or marriage, it's also challenging to find THEIR path to HEALING.
Join host, Brandon Wilson, survivors and recovery coaches Tonia Moore, Suzanna Quintana, and thrivers Maxine Scott and David Eubanks who have made it their personal mission to help others on the journey to HEALING after abuse.
EVERYONE needs to know what Narcissistic Abuse entails, not only for themselves, but to identify the signs to potentially help someone who may not know they are enduring this type of abuse.
