Torquing Motorsport Show Wales' concise motorsports radio show presented by Alex Lewis-Jones

TORQUING MOTORSPORT, an ever-expanding motorsport programme presented by Alex Jones, aired every saturday at 5pm as part of "The Season Ticket" slot on community radio station GTFM (From Pontypridd in RCT on 107.9MHz FM and online at www.gtfm.co.uk) and as an "on demand" podcast here on the WCBF Broadcasting network (our first ever syndicated radio programme)

From researching and trawling through the community media situation in Wales, it is becoming more and more obvious of a narrow-minded perspective (even from well-established academics & 'professionals' ). They think that nonprofit stations (which should be the criteria of most community stations), are (and always will be) exclusively small, unsustainable financially, niche-led, limited to one particular culture or community. They instead point to heavily commercialised 'community' operations that have very little difference from Commercial stations, then point to their profit balance sheet of what value they formerly had, to say they are 'successful models for community media', when often they get into so much debt and financially impossible obligations & scheduling, that they become irrelevant or close down in the most spectacular of ways. Monotone Stereotype Media should not be what is all of Welsh Media- We CAN MAKE WALES BETTER FOR MEDIA!
WCBF believes that the future is still to fight for. We have exciting plans coming up that you will not want to miss that we will be asking for your help with bringing to reality.

WCBF & DJFMITV Important Announcement

As you may be already aware, the attacks on small creators on Youtube, has affected many. We at WCBF and our partners DJFMITV are no exception. Our content has been sidelined, and with the advent of finally monetising our channel 4 months ago, despite the millions of views of content (coming up to 9 million, particularly with our most popular dinosaur ident and our ongoing Torquing Motorsport podcast series). We continue to need your help to get our monetisation reinstated, so that we can put funds further into our may projects. As part of the effort to drive up the viewing figures more, we have decided with our partners DJFMITV, to concentrate on the bigger viewership of the WCBF youtube channel - with more programmes for our wider audiences and outlets, including The Sprout magazine based in Cardiff, whilst more specialist programming will remain on the DJFMITV youtube channel. With nearly 125,000 minuites watched by viewers & listeners this year, we are halfway to being re-monetised under youtube’s new policies thanks to your efforts that will help our volunteers develop more programming for you.
