Sri Devi Mauli Fair Famous for Lotangan Jatra in Sonurli, Maharashtra
Sri Devi Mauli temple in Sonurli. This temple is very famous for 'Lotangan jatra'. The temple is also famous for ‘lotangan jatra’ which is held after Diwali, the very next day of tulsi wedding. It is a belief that your wish comes true if you pray whole heartedly and then put lotangan to Devi as a thank you gesture.
Sonurli is known as the South Pandharpur of Konkan. Devi is famously known as Mahishasur Mardini. The statue is engraved on a rock and is said to be 300 years old. Devi is known for fulfilling wishes.
Sonurli is a small village near Sawantwadi, near to Goa Maharashtra border. The roads are covered with greenery since its monsoons. The Konkan region has very beautiful temples. Best thing is they are spacious and with beautiful architecture.
