The Napa Parts Store & Marine Center in Alexandria Bay, NY is looking for parts counter people. Applicants need general automotive knowledge and the ability be able to use the computer to look up parts and ring up customers, New employees can usually be taught the computer part in a day or so. General marine knowledge would also be nice, but not a deal breaker as they can learn some of that on the job. This could be a full time position or part time. Stop in the store with a basic resume. Took a drive to Rensselaer Falls, NY to check out Fobare's BBQ & Catering Co. Met the owners who were super nice people, and got me a delicious pizza, some jumbo wings, and a nice loaf of bread which was right out of the oven. Very clean place. I highly recommend you check them out. Watch the video to meet the owners and hear a bit about what they offer.

The live camera at friendly island died a few weeks ago.. We don't know what happened to it but suspect the extreme cold had something to do with it. We cannot troubleshoot until spring. Very sorry.. It had a nice long run.

Here’s the post that started it all this morning.

River Santa is at it again! Fundraising fundraising. What do we need to buy toys for 650 children? Real gifts. Good gifts!! What do we need to have hot chocolate and cookies for everyone? What do we need to be certain our donations to all the backpack programs and to hearts for youth and the food pantry and church that feeds so many people is relevant? MONEY! We need donations. This is a 100% donation funded charity.

So… What am I up to now? If I can raise $500 by 11 AM tomorrow morning through either commitments to write a check or donations to gofundme starting at 8o’clock this morning I will take another and my final plunge into the river.

Anybody and everybody who wants to take a plunge is welcome to join me. The water temperature is still maintaining a lovely 42°. Don’t be a 🐥. Ha.

I managed to get a photo and some video of the Wolfe Islander IV Ferry as it passed Boldt Castle today in Alexandria Bay, NY. Built-in Romania, this is one of two new Electric Ferries on their way for use in Kingston Ontario Canada. The Wolfe Islander IV is 98 meters long; it is white with black accents and holds up to 399 passengers and 85 vehicles.
