Life Session Moment

“Performative Christianity”

Performative Christianity is a learned behavior. It is when we post bible verses and dont live it or we do all the religiously appropriate things like tithe and go to church but when someone mentions biblical teachings on Injustice or loving our neighbor we try to tune it out. Or when our Humanity rises, we go the opposite direction to prove we are something we are not....we do everything to make ourselves look good, like we are living out what the bible teaches when in reality it is just a show and our hearts have not been effectively transformed by the Gospel. We have to recognize that we are a sinful people and that mistakes, trials. Shortcomings are all apart of this Journey!!! You can't "work" your way closer to God. Theres nothing that you can do as an outward show to earn the Love of God! His love is freely given to anyone who cries Lord Lord. He is searching for a pure,intentional, repentful heart not the $300 suit you put on or how much Latin translations you know.

Come to him all who are burden and heavy and He will give you Rest... Not the Sleep rest but peace in your mind and in your spirit rest...away weapons that are formed by us and against us

People are watching us as we stay at our post, alertly, unswervingly . . . in hard times, tough times, bad times; when we’re beaten up, jailed, and mobbed; working hard, working late, working without eating; with pure heart, clear head, steady hand; in gentleness, holiness, and honest love; when we’re telling the truth, and when God’s showing his power; when we’re doing our best setting things right; when we’re praised, and when we’re blamed; slandered, and honored; true to our word, though distrusted; ignored by the world, but recognized by God; terrifically alive, though rumored to be dead; beaten within an inch of our lives, but refusing to die; immersed in tears, yet always filled with deep joy; living on handouts, yet enriching many; having nothing, having it all.

Let's talk about the Spirit of OFFENSE

We all have dealt with or are still dealing with it

The spirit of offense is similar to a sunburn.

If you’ve had a sunburn before, you know that when you touch it, it hurts.

When you have a sunburn (a deep seeded wound or hurt that hasn’t been dealt with), and someone touches your sunburn (by either speaking a truth or holding you accountable); your sunburn will hurt even more. As this is reflected when we respond with a spirit of offense.

You see, it’s not that the person hurt you; as you were already hurt. But, because that person touched your wounded spot, it stung or hurt you even more. TRAMA IS A SUNBURN!!!

Alot of us walk around with the spirit of offense on us. It is not a badge of honor....It is a yolk of bo***ge!!!! That must be dealt with. It must be cut out from the root . It doesn't matter what or how anyone says anything to you. Someone can come to you in the Spirit of Love but the Spirit of Offense will not allow you to see love!! Because your perception is altered!!! There is no reasoning that can be done with a person that walks in the spirit of offense!!!

I know all to well that Not only Prayer but Counseling is needed to deal with this Spirit !!!

To the person walking in this spirit.... You are still Valuable... This spirit It can be beat!!! In Jesus name!!!

****Transparent Moment*****

Wednesday....... I Share I had one of the most horrible anxiety attacks I have ever experienced.....

Many may say.... Chile you Coach Nikki, Ain't you a Preacher. ..Motivational Speaker... Life Coach... .. you look so happy and your life is so put together....I thought You knew God...... Sugga these things HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT!

Trauma..... It is a Real Thing!!!

CHILE.... I come from a generation that always taught us to fake it until you make it... Or don't let people see your struggle or just put on a happy face.... Just Pray about it...

Sometimes you need Prayer, A Couch and a Pill..🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

Life and wisdom has taught me... It's ok to not be ok... I've hid behind a mask for so many years .... Not any more..... Ive learned how to be free from people's idea of me.... and walk in my truth....

I suffer from Functioning Depression/ Anxiety....

And you know what its ok.... CAUSE I'm still valuable!!!!

I have taken the necessary steps I needed to make sure I'm good mentally.... cause you know in the Black Community we dont believe in Mental Health....

I wanted to share my story cause I know alot of people are secretly battling with Depression and Anxiety.... and maybe this is your sign to get help....

The Church people are Fighting again Lawd...

To Tithe or Not To Tithe Jesus....

Ya know Lawd I was just thinking....

I aint never seen The Catholics fight over how many Hail Mary's to say

Or the Muslims fight how many times they have to pray

Or the Buddhist fight over which incense to burn before going into the temple

We Christians (mainly the brown ones...👀) are so quick to jump in an Argument Lawd to prove how "Right" we are ...... and who is Wrong..... I thought you told us to search the scriptures for ourselves and study them and ask for divine understanding and knowledge so that we can rightly Divide the word of truth...not so we can boast to this world how right we are but to guard us from "The Enemy" so he won't sift us a wheat.... but what do I know... I'm just trying to make it to Heaven and take some people with me...... Just my thoughts 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️
