three years ago today - ry took me out on out on our first date... on Valentine’s Day haha. We had been friends for years and the whole night before I was trying to figure out if this was a “just friends” thing or if he was actually trying to (finally) break us out of the friend zone. Turns out it was the latter 🎉🎉

Happy Valentines to my husband. So grateful for you in my life to support me, love me, and push me forward in all the things I do ❤️

Is that part of your conversation with your fiance during the wedding planning process? Or part of your internal struggle when you are figuring out where to budget the money? I hear it over and over again from my brides. Grooms are a little hesitant about it all. Brides don't want to regret spending money on it.

LISTEN - I GET IT. My husband was a little skeptical too (me being a wedding videographer didn't leave him with a ton of choice in the matter lol) but he was worried it would be awkward having someone videoing every moment. He didn't want to look awkward or say something awkward. I had a few fears MYSELF! - what if our toasts weren't that great and I didn't want them in our video? I was pretty picky on the style of editing too - I didn't want a cheesy slow motion video that would never get watched. I didn't want my husband to act nervous on our WEDDING DAY because of a videographer!

I got a DM the other day from one of my past GROOMS saying, "def cry every time i wach it - really thank you for giving us something we wil be able to watch forever and show our future family. youre amazing." This was from a couple that booked me TWO WEEKS before their wedding because they didn't think they needed a videographer and then last minute changed their minds!!!

So if you are getting married in a few months and still going back and forth on the idea of having a wedding videographer - all I have to say is - you do NOT want to regret not having one!! They are the best way to relive your wedding day and remmeber the sweet things that were said during your ceremony ❤️

Okay guys - here they are! Something I am so passionate about and so excited to share with you guys! LOVE STORY MINI SESSIONS (just in time for Valentines Day!) and also a little introduction to how sneaky my grandpa is in getting my grandma to talk to him for the first time! I had NO CLUE this is how they met until I was filming this! hahaha

I posted all about these in my stories today (in a highlight bubble now) but want to post this killer deal with you guys here. I am always trying to compile my family’s story to keep for my kids and their kids, etc. and let me tell you - it is so hard! We are always busy and it’s hard finding the time to sit down and get it done. And once it’s “done” and documented - put it together too it’s easy to watch. I have a vision of popping in (lol more like pulling up - I’m not making VHS tapes for you guys) these edited family videos of my grandparents and their stories and my parents’ stories for my kids to watch on the weekends one day so I am slowly working through getting these done.

SO I want to help you guys out in this same effort! And I am making it superrrr affordable so that everyone can do this. You can come in with your spouse, your parents, and your grandparents and get all generations recorded and documented all at once or get a session just for your grandparents.

Here are the details:
20 min video interview session
15 min photo session in a studio
Old photos and videos added in to your final love story documentary
5-10 edited photos

I will do all the heavy lifting to get your stories recorded. We’ll schedule a 45 minute spot for you, have you come to a studio, hang out, grab some snacks, and that’s it! I’ll send over a website with everything for you guys a few weeks later that you can download everything and share with extended family!

It’s wedding day!!! 2020 is a going to be my favorite year yet - I can just feel it ☺️ and I’m so excited to start off the year with this beautiful wedding in Sacramento!!

Also - this lil babe pictured didn’t make it on this trip but it is the newest Super 8 addition to the family. My dad got it for me for my birthday a few months back ❤️❤️

After graduating college last year, I started working full time at a marketing agency because it seemed like what I was “supposed to do”. Although i loved working there - I never felt like that was totally right for me. I love entrepreneurship and this little corner I have. Getting to be apart of people’s wedding days in such a big way is something I feel so lucky to be able to do and have been wanting to do more of so here I am showing up for all of you!!

This is one of the most tender parts of a film I have put together. The groom’s vows to his new daughters and the daughters’ gift to their new dad at the end had everyyyyone tearing up. So lucky to be able to preserve such sweet memories for my couples.

When I am editing a wedding video, I am constantly thinking “what is going to be important and meaningful for my COUPLE to have in their film?” There are so many trends going on in the industry right now to have perfect wedding films that showcase the “best” shots. But it’s not about us and our films and our “best” shots. It’s about our couples that trust us to capture their day. Their day is hardly ever “perfect”. Was the sweet moment at the end a perfect shot? No, it wasn’t planned and we were walking back from the ceremony when I realized what the girls were trying to do. Is the audio perfect? No - there were a few tears and a few hugs that ruffled the mic a bit. It was a bit more “raw” with people walking through the shot etc. but I knew that moment was SO important to my couple so OF COURSE I made sure to incorporate it.

You DESERVE a wedding film that has everything you care about in it!!

When I facetimed with Jackie and Sean before their wedding day and asked what they enjoy doing together and what was most important to them in their wedding day - they both immediately responded with - their friends!! I made sure to include so many fun shots of their friend group in their film. My second shooter and I had the best day hanging out with this crew.
Also, highly recommend having your best guy friends as part of your bridal party 🙌🏻🙌🏻 .lasvegas

Spent this whole week soaking in family time and feeling. So. Refreshed. My life is always pretty “go go go” because I have a hard time sitting still 🙈 and relaxing so I’m always grateful for the holidays for some good ole family time. ☺️
Very grateful for my cute husband and how SUPPORTIVE he is of me and my dreams and my crazy ideas that I come up with (and change on a weekly basis).

Hope you all enjoyed the holidays and got some family/friend time!!

RARE!!! Never before seen footage with me TALKING in the background 😂😂 their laughs were too cute to just post a silent clip of tonight!! So yes - spoiler alert to my future couples - “cute!!!” is my go to word when I’m behind the camera 😂

also, KARA AND BRETT GET MARRIED TO. FREAKING. MORROW! I can’t wait! I asked Kara a few weeks ago if they’d be down to do a quick more casual shoot the day before their wedding and I’m so glad we could squeeze it in! I always try to find some time the day or two before my couples’ wedding to grab coffee or do a little shoot to get to know them more and walk through their wedding day one last time before the day arrives! 🎉🎉

I always suggest to my couples that they make time for THEM on their wedding day. Whether that be a first look, reading letters from each other, taking an hour to themselves before the reception, orrrr running away to the mountains to read private vows to each other before their ceremony - you will be so grateful you did 🙌🏻

I grew up in Las Vegas right by these mountains and I love getting to go back so often to my hometown to shoot weddings (and visit my little niece ☺️)

My little niece's first visit to Disneyland! The main reason I kept going forward with my hobby of videography was because I knew FOR SURE this was the way I wanted to document my family's life together because it just feels so real and brings you back to the moment! Also, I LOVED getting to shoot on a vintage super 8 film camera that my husband got me for my birthday!!

It’s REBRAND TIME!!! There are so many reasons behind this rebrand but a couple I’ll share now.

1. The obvious reason is because my name changed when I got married. Woo! I have always enjoyed filming weddings but after getting married myself, I LOVE them! I felt like having my new last name in my business inspired me to create magical days for my couples like my amazing vendors did. I thought a lot about the idea of having my business name be something other than my name but it just didn’t feel as personal that way and I love the relationships I have been able to build and want to focus on those connections!

2. That being said, wanting to keep things personal, the logo that the amazing designed for me has a personal meaning to me as “squid” is my childhood nickname that has pretty much stuck with me my whole life!

I have a new website now and lots of new things on there for my clients so check it out, and welcome to Cydne Robinson Films! ☺️💕
