The Grand Island Police Department is once again seeking the publics help to identify the owner and/or driver of the truck pictured below. This truck was involved in the theft of 200 gallons of diesel fuel from Valero Snack Shack. A car and bike show today (Saturday) will benefit the family of 19-year-old Katie Cameron, who had a heart transplant Sept. 7. The fundraiser runs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at the Platt Duetsche. A 2022 Northwest graduate, Katie is the daughter of Scott and Wendy Cameron. The event is called "Our Katie Girl Car & Bike Show." She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and had a massive stroke when she was 18 months old. Her heart failure this year was caused by a chemo drug she took when she was 18 months old. Being a welder is a great job for a woman, says Lacey, who'd really like to see other females follow her into the trade. Lacey, 33, lives in Trumbull. Jade, 34, lives in Chapman. Both are mothers and both are Northwest graduates.
